In doing so, the study provides an elaborative analysis of vulnerability and social exclusion of the poorest; women, ethnic minorities and the most disadvantaged groups in Bangladesh and identifies the areas where social protection is needed by international organizations like UNDP in government failures. The study made some robust recommendations how they could be socially integrated and protected. Secondary information and materials were mainly used to carry out the study.

Structural Adjustment Participatory Review Initiative (SAPRI), (Participatory Component) 19992000 Project Director Sponsored by World Bank/Civil Society/GOB The study assessed, using the participatory appraisal tools and techniques the impact of Structural Adjustment Policy on the different sections of the society in Bangladesh and as well as the degree of social protection of different social groups especially of the poor. Increasing Awareness and Knowledge about Gender Analysis of National Budget 2000-2001 Project Director Sponsored by PLAGE Project of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), Dhaka South Asia Poverty Monitor: The Bangladesh Chapter 1998 Team Leader Sponsored by SAARC Secretariat The study analyses the income and human poverty situation in Bangladesh along with the government and non-government interventions/ endeavours in alleviating poverty. Using quantitative techniques (mainly secondary data analysis) it tries to capture the different dimensions of poverty and its interlinkages with others like environment. It also analyses the government social protection schemes and policies along with the defects. On Reaching the Hardcore Poor: Redefining the NGO Strategy1998 Project Director Sponsored by NOVA Consultancy The study is intended to assess the intention of NGOs interventions to reach the extreme poor. It has an indepth focus on the social exclusiveness of some selected NGOs. Using qualitative and quantitative techniques it finds that those NGOs policies and interventions are unable protect the extreme poor. Shrimp Culture and Environment 1994 Project Director Sponsored by World Bank, Dhaka Arguing that there is a strong nexus between poverty and environmental degradation, the study aimed at assessing the impact of shrimp culture on environment. Using qualitative and quantitative techniques, the study finds that the nexus truly works at the shrimp culture areas at the coastal Bangladesh and there are no social protect arrangements from the governments side for the poor and tomorrow's poor. Grameen Bank Evaluation Project, 1985-1986 Project Coordinator Worked as a Project Coordinator of Grameen Bank Evaluation Project on behalf of BIDS and completed more than half a dozen studies covering issues including Impact of Grameen Bank on Nutritional Status, Management Style of Grameen Bank, Loan Recovery Performance, Replicability of Grameen Bank, etc.
