Activities
All activities are organized according to an increasing degree of difficulty, starting from the general concept to go to look up some details in particular. Learning is based on activities that allow to implement a non-formal education strategy that includes non-formal learning objectives related to the themes and lends itself well to cognitive and social purposes. All activities chosen are directly related to the goals, through a participatory approach, the contextualization of concepts, skills enhancement, the development of ability. Tasks and responsibilities will be distributed increasingly, however, suited to the target of the project, so that participants can detect the development at the end of the project.

What: implementation activities: the Compasito, the activities of the blog / internet, interviews, video capture, the final event, meeting with the institutions; When: one week Where: Palazzo Adriano Through what?: expert trainers, staff, organization and preparation;

The activities related to Human Rights Education are under the responsibility of the project coordinator and trainer that will take care of all stages. All activities will enable young people to reflect on the importance of human rights in the life of every human being and the importance of their protection and promotion. These activities will be chosen from among those in the Compasito according to the degree of difficulty, beginning with a degree of difficulty equal to 1 until reach a level of difficulty of 2. Given that the days for the implementation of activities are 5 you will spend: 2 days for activities of 1 degree of difficulty; 2 days for activities of 2 degree of difficulty; 1 day for activities of 3 degree of difficulty. This will ensure a process of gradual learning of the concepts considered. The activities will be chosen also according to the level of participation and creativity. This will ensure that all participants can become active subjects of the projects and develop creativity (essential feature for the mental development of children). The types of activities shall be, therefore, funny and creative. Noting the importance of visual communication, every activity would contain within it the creation of a billboard with the dual aim of enabling participants to be able to show others and themselves what they have produced in order to communicate what they have learned to local community during the final event, when the work done will be exposed. The activities related to the production of short films (which would make the final video to be transmitted during the final event) will be based entirely on an participative approach and allow participants to develop their creativity. They will be the main actors responsible for implementation of all phases of the videos. Each video will be based on the theme dealt with Human Rights Education.. The various groups that are formed (different each day to allow a greater integration and greater knowledge of the participants among themselves) will make each component of the video: history (who, what, how), sets, shoot. Each group will be equipped with a camera with video option. In this way, participants will be managers and players of all cycles that make up the construction.Each group will be supported by a manager who will intervene where there is a blockage of the group, or during a situations of exclusion or passivity of some participants and to prevent crises and problems within the group. H.R.Y.O. - Human Rights Youth Organization

The activities for the realization of the blog are thought of as moments of personal reflection about activities and themes of the day. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect quietly and alone in an environment that will be made as comfortable as possible. During this phase will be spread to relaxed music which aims to promote reflection. Each participant will have time to think and writing or drawing their experience and feelings related to their feelings. All items will be collected and incorporated into the blog. The latter will be created by the participants who can choose every single item, from graphic to the organization of the pages that compose it. The activity of the interviews of participants to the citizen has the dual aim of enhancing the relations and contacts between the different generations and stimulate reflection about Human Rights within the local community and inform the community about the project. In the first phase the participants will write together the questions on the issues that we are dealing with during the implementation. They will be supported by all the staff and especially the trainer who will facilitate the development and discussion about the questions. Each participant will create a paper hat with the words "Human Rights" in order to make more dynamic the activity. This hat will be worn during the interviews with the dual aim of encouraging greater attention from the local community and facilitate the management of the group, so that the staff responsible for the groups can easily under its responsibility. During the preparation phase of the project it will be created a map of areas in which to do the interviews and it will appoint the group leaders. Participants will be divided into small groups and each group will be assigned an area to go to interview the local community. During the interview, each participant in turn ask questions in order to facilitate the participation of all. The realization of the final event aims to involve the local community and the dissemination of results. Through the final event it will also create greater interaction between the local community. The day before participants distribute also calls for the final event. The final event includes a conference opening in which the coordinator present the project and the Council of Europe, explaining the procedure, a representative of The Communal Consultation of the Young and a representative of the institutions. At the end of the presentation will be screened the video composed of several short films made by participants during the project. This will facilitate a wider dissemination of the results achieved and the topics covered as well as allowing greater growth of awareness of the experience by the participants, increasing their feelings. During the evening will be distributed to the local community the gadgets, made during the week preceding the implementation of activities with the aim to leave a real memory of the evening and week of activities. The distribution of gadgets, also stimulate a greater curiosity about the event and the activities carried out by a rural community not accustomed to initiatives similar to those proposed. This will also allow an easier interaction between the community and the community together with the participants and staff. Participants will receive a certificate of participation and, in view of the target, they will be given a gadget different from that distributed to the community, which together with those given to participants at the beginning of implementation of activities will stimulate and enhance the feeling of being in a part of a group that is dedicated to a project different from the usual. The meeting with the institutions is designed in order both to stimulate greater interaction and mutual interest between the participants and institutions and between institutions and organization. Increase mutual knowledge about different fields of intervention and the needs or requirement (alongside the development of an interpersonal relationship) may stimulate the creation of new ideas to turn into new future project. During the meeting, in fact, it will be stimulate the dialogue in order to facilitate future development through cooperation between the local community, institutions, The Communal Consultation of the Young, the H.R.Y.O. - Human Rights Youth Organization. Here will be structured other possible project proposals to the Council of Europe to make this project, the first of many that will foster the development of this area with a high risk of exclusion and isolation.

Group Impact Group Impact

The types of projects together with the methodology used is totally new for the participants : it was never carried out a project with a social background in this community context. The extreme social closure faced by the participants, caused by the positioning of Palazzo Adriano, and the lack of initiatives will be no more exist for a week in the life of the participants. They will first deal with other subjects (the staff of H.R.Y.O.) not belonging to their community, and learn about attitudes and lifestyles and different ideas. This will stimulate young minds and channeled to the development of intercultural activities, since it is only knowing what is not familiar to us that we know ourselves. Diversity is the culture and to know different way of life of others helps us to live and raise our ideas and our thoughts, encouraging open-mindedness. All activities will allow participants to deal with some issues for the first time, and this will enable them not only to increase their knowledge, but also to combine this knowledge and reflection. Participants will experience in practice what they are learning and what are their skills, since they are the protagonists of each phase. Considering the target, this type of experience will inevitably be reflected in their growth: on the one hand as the target audience includes an age range between 8 and 16 years, highly formative period for personal development, and secondly because participants live in a very isolated community not only from geographical point of view, but also mental and ideological.

Local Impact Local Impact

The project has a strong local impact as the place of execution is highly isolated both from a geographical point of view that socio-cultural. The presence of people outside the community (the staff of H.R.Y.O.) and the implementation of activities and initiatives organized the first ever, will stimulate the local community, increasing their interest, as well as their knowledge. Parents that since the start-up phase will be involved and committed to involving their children to new activities and social, to local community who will attend a week of activities and the final event, will create a major involvement and interest in issues and activities that fall outside the daily life of this community.
