Area Retail Manager Retail Sales Manager Retail Operations The main focus of Area Retail Managers is to support Retail operations in meeting and exceeding the overall Retail Operations Business & Commercial targets. The Area Retail Manager will accomplish this through the achievement of the Area targets assigned to him by Manager Retail Operations. Achieving Retail Operations Objectives will entail working under Direct Supervision of Retail Operations Manager in handling all matters pertaining to HR, Finance, Logistics, IT & Other support Functions.

Responsibilities

Area Sales Planning Contributes to Planning Targets & Budgets for Retail Operations by providing inputs for his Area/ Territory. Plans Store wise/ Brand wise targets for stores in his Area on the basis of Area targets assigned to him by Manager Retail Operations. Recommends Space planning for different Brands. Communicates the approved plan and targets to the Store Managers, and issues instructions to implement the same. Monitors & follows up implementation of the plan on a periodic basis in meetings with Store Managers jointly or singly. Identifies new potential outlets in his area and makes recommendations to Retail Operations Manager. Inventory Management Monitor product movements & stock levels for each product category and brands across all group outlets, and arrange for stock transfers/ replenishment, as required. Carries out periodic inventory checks to ensure rapid Inventory Turnover and availability of stocks. Ensures Periodic Stock Audits are carried out for his Area Outlets under guidance from Internal Audit and reports discrepancies. Financial Control Monitors, Analyses and controls operational expenditure in his area in close coordination with Accounts and takes necessary action under advise to the Retail Operations Manager. Monitors Till activities and ensures procedures are followed to secure Cash Receipts. Human Resources Plans and recommends Annual Leave schedules for his staff. Prepares periodic assessments of Store Managers performance in coordination with HR on prescribed formats and follows the Performance Management System. Evaluates Resource requirements, training needs, relocation/ transfer needs and recommends to the management. Obtains Reports on disciplinary issues from Store Managers, issues written warnings as per the discipline policy. Scrutinizes Attendance & Punctuality and ensures all leaves are legitimate and genuine. Reports Absences/ late comings etc. Marketing & Merchandising Recommends and ensures Marketing & In store promotion support to reinforce sales efforts and improve performances. Ensures Merchandising Standards are maintained throughout the Area. Works closely with VMs towards Branding and Instore Merchandising in consultation with ROM. Communication Presents to the ROM 3 months consolidated report/ presentation on the quarterly activities and performance of the stores and in his Area and recommends measures for improvement.

MBA with a major in marketing with a minimum of 5 years experience as an Area Manager in a Retail Organization. Graduate with atleast 8 years of Retail experience as Area Manager in a Retail Organization.
