Budget cuts have made it impossible to send all teachers to conferences or to bring in well-known experts for training. For us, PD 360 is very costeffective as it provides professional development with the most current topics and the best authorities in education.

FOCUSES LCSD2 shares the same focuses as many districts all over the country. Provide the best education for students despite federal funding cuts. Achieve No Child Left Behind mandate of 100 percent proficiency by 2014. Ensure teachers are united by common language and best practices. Remain current with latest education developments. SOLUTION When LCSD2 Superintendent Jack Cozort became aware of PD 360, he asked Brent Bacon, LCSD2 Director of Special Services to research it for district use. Mr. Bacon readily signed up for a free trial, tested the resource, and was impressed with its possibilities. He felt that for a widespread rural district, the accessibility of online training was the perfect answer. ABOUT PD 360 PD 360 is an on-demand library of professional teacher development resources that leverages technology to make professional learning more effective, convenient, and sustainable. With over 200 hours of research-based video content, plus tools for follow-up, tracking, reflection, and group training, PD 360 is the most comprehensive solution to your professional teacher development needs.

PROFILE Laramie County School District #2 (LCSD2) is a small, rural system situated in the southeast corner of Wyoming. It includes six schools serving 915 students in four communities that are spaced 10 to 40 miles apart. As shown by recent highlights, LCSD2 continuously strives to create a learning environment that inspires all students to their highest potential. Tracy Petsch, Title I teacher at Albin Elementary, received the 2008 Milken National Educator Award for Wyoming, earning a $25,000 unrestricted award in honor of her teaching abilities. Albin Elementary was chosen 2010 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Carpenter Elementary was awarded the 2010 National Distinguished Title I School in Wyoming. All LCSD2 schools made AYP in 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-11. Academy of Extended Learning (A.L.E.X.), an extended school day program, is offered to all students in grades K 6 providing additional time for homework help, corrective instruction, and enrichment opportunities. Because funding for A.L.E.X. is through state and federal monies, there is no charge to parents.

More than 700,000 educators across North America already use PD 360 to access individualized support on the most relevant topics, like differentiation, minority student achievement, English language learners, classroom instruction that works, leadership, assessment, and many more. PD 360s content is divided into hundreds of indexed and searchable segments that make it easy for teachers, administrators, aspiring leaders, coaches, mentors, paraprofessionals, and professional learning communities to find the answers they need. New content is continually added to keep teachers up-to-date. See a demonstration at www.pd360.com. DRIVING USAGE AND IMPLEMENTATION LCSD2 knows that increasing quality teaching is significant to student success and is incorporating PD 360 in many ways. Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) LCSD2 is using PD 360 in PLCs to give teachers common language and practice. PLCs watch a video segment and discuss how to apply the practices in their classrooms. The accompanying digitized Facilitator Guides provide group activities, discussion questions, lesson plans, and graphic organizers. Professional Goal Plan As part of the evaluation process, all teachers are required to complete an individual Professional Goal Plan that is developed by the teacher and principal. It includes identified areas for growth, action plans, and progressreporting procedures. Watching PD 360 segments that relate to areas of need while tracking what they learn will soon become part of the LCSD2 PD procedure. Interactive Learning Communities LCSD2 educators are encouraged to participate in PD 360 Interactive Learning Communities. These communities focus on a shared PD topic/goal or committee research and reduce the classroom isolation teachers often experience. Struggling Teachers Teachers who struggle are helped by LCSD2 principals who suggest specific PD 360 segments to show how best practices look in needed areas such as classroom management, differentiated instruction, and many more. Each teachers usage is tracked to follow growth, as are answers to reflection and follow-up questions. Differentiated Instruction LCSD2 wants all teachers to utilize the principles of differentiated instruction to better meet the needs of
