HOW TO REDUCE COST A Proposal

This is a proposal for an activity regarding "How to find factor to cut down overheads and ways to reduce cost". This proposal contains a proposed meeting activity of all the responsible employee of each department of our organization to put their factors which can be control to reduce over heads and help us to reduce cost. This activity may help us to gather various factors and versatile ideas to control those factors. Besides the core objective of this activity we can also have the following benefits, Job Involvement: This may help employees to get involve more in theirs jobs. In order to find out cost reducing factors they would perform their job differently which may increase job involvement. Employee Encouragement: Employees may have sense of realization that they are being considered to put their views for the betterment of organization. Employee Evaluation: This may help higher management to evaluate the caliber of our employee. Also help us to decide either our employee need to be more groom? Or need any kind of training or not. This activity may also have following disadvantages; Time Consuming: This activity would have two or more sessions to get the desired result which will seems to be timing consuming. Confusion to decide: It may become confusing to decide amongst too many option and views. A very versatile collection of views and ideas may divert from the core objective Result with passage of time: We can't have instant result for the idea we have implemented by mutual understanding, for this we need to wait to evaluate either the ideas which we have implemented are practically possible or not.

Step of Proposed Activity


Step # 1: Divide the organization into different groups, It can be according to departments of our organization i.e.; Stitching, Washing, Quality Control, Sampling ETC. They would be allowed to select their representative who can present their ideas at final meeting. Group leader can divide the group into sub-groups of five members to assign them to work on different areas. Step # 2: Each group would be responsible to submit a report to group representative, what according to them are the factor which can help us to reduce over heads and what strategy we can implement to reduce cost. Step # 3: Group representative will summarize all the reports from his/ her sub-groups and present it at final meeting with the name of each member on reports. Step # 4: At final meeting, all the group representatives will present their report and discuss all the points one by one. Step # 5: Higher management will consider all the report and select and deselect the points for further consideration for next sitting. Step # 6: All the group representatives will discuss the selected options with all the possible outcomes. A list of finalized options to be present to C.E.O for approval. With the approval of C.E.O all the possible option will be allow implementing with the available resources. Step # 7: Time for next meeting to be decided, which would be evaluating meeting to check the efficiency and effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
