June is such a fantastic month in Columbus! Check

out the June calendar on the back of the newsletter
for the lowdown but I wanted to talk briefly about
two of my favorite Columbus events (other than
Pride – see next page) that take place this month.
The Columbus Arts Festival runs Thursday, June 7th
– Sunday, June 10th in downtown Columbus along the
riverfront. There are tons of artists, food vendors, and
entertainment. The GirlSpot rec activity for Satur-
day, June 9th will be a trip to the arts festival. This
is a FREE event and very kid friendly. We’ll meet at
Stonewall at noon, then carpool downtown, and enjoy
the festivities. More information is available from the
Greater Columbus Arts Council at www.gcac.org/fest.

romantic comedy about a Chinese-American lesbian
whose conservative mother suddenly moves in with
her. We’ll be projecting the movie outdoors, so bring
your truck, lawn chairs, or blankets and take advantage
of a warm summer night. Popcorn will be provided,
but feel free to bring snacks to share as well. We’re
asking for a suggested donation of $2 to cover the
cost of the projector.
There will be rec events every Saturday. Check the
calendar or our myspace page for more details! Hope
to see you all soon!
