School-Age Literacy Specialist, June 2014 Present
Muskingum County Library System, Zanesville, Ohio

Developed a partnership with Zanesville City Schools in which the library created or enhanced
products and services of interest to educators and school librarians.
Provided training to library personnel regarding the Common Core State Standards and how to
implement that knowledge when designing childrens programming.
Organized an edcamp conference in March of 2015, which gathered educators from across
Muskingum County to discuss topics in education and literacy.

Adjunct Faculty in Developmental Education, October 2013 - Present

Zane State College, Zanesville, Ohio

Taught courses in developmental reading and writing, with a focus on vocabulary development
and writing fundamentals.

Elementary School Teacher, December 2012 June 2014

Foxfire Community Schools, Zanesville, Ohio

Constructed the foundation of this alternative schools elementary curriculum, using resources
gathered from model schools around the state and aligning them with Common Core standards.
Worked cooperatively with an intervention specialist and instructional aide in a co-teaching
environment, with 6 students demonstrating mild-to-moderate special needs.
Implemented an English Language Arts curriculum and monitored progress towards reading
proficiency for 34 students in grades 1-4.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan County, Zanesville, Ohio

Participated in the 2014-2015 fundraising campaign.

Currently working with United Way staff to create messaging that will resonate with area
educators, in an effort to increase their awareness of the communitys services for children and
their families, and to prepare for the 2015-2016 fundraising campaign.
