This assignment is an exploration of Architectural projects in the 20th century. It focuses on their formal and spatial language, more specifically on the organizing principles employed in the generation of form. PROCESS & PRESENTATION Each pair will select an Architect from the attached list & analyze two of his projects Identify each project by: location, date and architect Provide enough images (plans, elevations & 3Ds) Analyze each of them separately focusing on the four following organizing principles that govern the generation of form: 1. 2. 3. 4. Balance :Symmetrical /Asymmetrical Geometry :form, position and proportion Repetitive to unique/ Emphasis /Hierarchy Formal organizations/circulation to use-space

Compare & contrast the two projects using the four aspects as your guideline, identify similarities & differences (Table format). SUBMISSION FORMAT Your analysis should be expressed using diagrams, sketches as well as written format Power-point Presentation (digital) and a hard copy 8-1/2 x 11 EVALUATION This project is worth 15 % of your final mark for this course. It should exhibit skills you have developed in research, analysis and presentation. Emphasis will be placed upon: Depth of analysis & conclusions Scope of documentation Quality of Visual Presentation

Introduction: Name of the architect you chose, selected projects, identification of projects: Name, location, year, images. 3. Body: refer to the 4 points mentioned in your assignment ,consider each one as a heading to guide you in filling the pertinent info .
