For the past 14 years, I`m learning diIIerent
things as each day comes by. I learned how to
count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, Round oII
and many other more. With the use oI Math, my
liIe gets easier and better. For me, Math is a
hard subject, but iI you exert eIIort in handling
the subject, you will Iind it Iun and easy. As we
get older, Math gets harder because our brain
stores more and more knowledge as each day
pass by. Math is a step by step process that
needs to be Iollowed. II you Iollow these
particular steps, You will Math with ease.

In my stay here in USTHS, I Iind Math
as one oI the most diIIicult subject. But iI
you try your best to learn and understand
it, you will Iind it easy. Math is a simple
process that needs to be Iollowed. You
need to have hardwork and patience in
order to exel in Math. Math can also help
you in your daily liIe. As students, we
must learn and appreciate Math.

Math.. Against all Odds
Zero, two, Iour, six, eight
Being even is just great.
One, three, Iive, seven, nine
Being odd is just Iine.
Zero the hero came to school.
Zero the hero knows a rule:
Zero the hero stays in a space,
So all the other numbers gets in the right place!
Letters and numbers you will Iind
Fractions and Decimals can be solved using your

You may consider Math as a threat
But the diIIiculty isn`t over yet

I ask that You help me with my Math. I need
Your grace to do well. I am not worthy oI
Your help, but I want to do well and I know
that iI you help I can do very well in my
math. I thank You that hear my prayers even
though I am a sinner. I ask that you take
away my sins and Iorgive me Ior my Iaults

I know that you are God and that is why I

Prayer
Dear Lord,
Sometimes I Ieel a little strange praying
to you because oI the subject Math.
It doesn't really seem all that signiIicant
when you consider the "big picture."
But right now, the test looms so large
that it is all I can see beIore me.
I pray to you Ior three things:
- the strength to handle the pressure that I Ieel,
- the conIidence to Ieel secure
in my knowledge and preparation,
- and the ability to keep an appropriate
perspective on it all.
Help me to keep in mind what is really
important,
even as I Iocus all oI my time and energy
on this period oI time. Amen.

I experienced a lot oI Iailures during my Iirst
year studying Mathematics in UST. Rarely did I
receive a paper with an A on it, and as I recall
I never even received a paper with a high mark.
That`s why every time I look at my portIolio; I
just can seem but cry my heart out. With the
exception oI the 1st Quarter, I have Iailed to
understand many Iundamentals on time; usually
I just get it when the quiz or exams are already
done. I am very good at measuring length, time,
capacity and everything about measuring; I am
also good at Adding, Subtracting, Dividing and
Multiplying Integers. I am not so good at RAE.
During Elementary Algebra I learned that in
order to learn the hard things, we must Iirst
learn to do the most simplest oI things by
Iollowing instructions.

Autobiography
Elementary Algebra is the most basic Iorm oI algebra. It
is taught to students who are presumed to have no
knowledge oI mathematics beyond the basic principles oI
arithmetic. Although the most basic branch oI Algebra, It
was very hard to understand. From the Rational
Expression and to the Properties oI Equality it only made
me Iail my subjects. But, even though there were hard
topics, there were also the easy ones like the one about
Measurement and there was also the one about integers.
Although Irustrated about the harder topics I still am
thankIul I had the chance to learn about real numbers,
evaluating algebraic expressions, Division oI monomials,
product oI monomials, well, everything about monomials;
about squaring and Iactoring and everything else that dear
Ms. Iguid taught us.

Let us not Iorget the simplest thing
