At Array, producing quality plug valves is not just about ensuring customer satisfaction and maintenance free performance It is about preventing accidents which may have environmental impact. The purpose of every valve manufactured by Array is to control the flow of volatile, often toxic, liquids and gases and keep them from being emitted into the atmosphere or spilled on the ground or into the water. That is why Arrays quality systems and the quality systems of all of our suppliers are certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and International Standards Organization (ISO). Every valve we sell is designed and manufactured to exceed our customers expectations and the requirements of internationally recognized standards specifying organizations. It is also why we spend so much time working closely with our customers and suppliers to continuously improve the quality of our valves and the efficiency of our systems because we recognize that the quality of our valves can positively impact the quality of our environment. It is our primary concern and motivation.

The Array Accuseal expanding plug valve is a high integrity positive shut-off valve designed for applications where tight shut-off, verifiable zero leak rate and double block and bleed (DBB) capabilities are required. The Accuseal DBB valve is effective for a variety of applications including offshore platforms, aviation fueling, tank farms, terminals, custody transfer units, meter stations, multiple-product manifolds, bulk product isolation, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and any double block and bleed applications. The Accuseal DBB valve offers many design advantages over alternative double block and bleed systems that require two valves with a spool and bleed valve in-between. It also has advantages when compared with many competitive single DBB valve designs. The Accuseal DBB valve is a single valve solution that provides the function of simultaneously blocking both the upstream and downstream flow while allowing the user to verify seal integrity utilizing a manual or automatic body bleed system. All Accuseal DBB valves are manufactured per ISO 9001, monogrammed per API 6D, fire tested per API 607 and 6fA and have region-specific design certifications such as CE/PED.

page 10

Molded Seals: valve seals are molded into the slip, providing strength, durability and long seal life. Seals Retracted During Valve Operation: Slip seals are fully retracted when the valve is being opened or closed. This prevents abrasion of the seals during valve operation, extends seal life and ensures a perfect seal every time. One Piece Plug & Stem: The robust one piece design eliminates stem-to-plug connection failures common with many two-piece designs. Protected Position Indicator: The valve position indicator is protected by a durable clear acrylic cover. This prevents accumulation of foreign materials that could impair valve function while providing full visibility of the valve position indicator flag at all times. When stem extensions, motor actuator kits (MAks) or limit switch assemblies are used with a valve, a special top cover with weather seal is used in place of the acrylic cover. Customized Relief Systems Available: The Accuseal DBB valve comes standard with an automatic differential thermal relief (ADTR) system with manual bleed valve option. Other types of relief systems are available upon request. Reduced Leak-Paths in Relief System: The Accuseal ADTR system has fewer threaded connections than many other designs. This reduces the probability of leaks in the system. Can be Adapted for Motorized Operation: The Accuseal DBB valve can be fitted with a motor actuator kit (MAk) which allows it to accept most commercially available electric actuators. In-Line Repairable: The Accuseal DBB valve can be serviced without having to remove the valve from the line. Slips can be removed from the bottom by removing the bottom cover or from the top by removing the upper bonnet. Spare Parts: Accuseal DBB slips and selected other spare parts are interchangeable with valves from some other commonly used manufacturers. Please contact your distributor for more information.

FEATURES Of ARRAY PLUG VALVES

page 11

Slip sealing surfaces

Upper port for relief system

Lower trunnion

Array Accuseal expanding plug valves contain a number of features designed to mitigate problems inherent in competitive designs. These features set the Accuseal valve apart from the competition and ensure years of worry-free service.

page 12

Location of upper port for relief system The upper port for relief system has been located on the upper section of the valve body instead of on the lower portion of the valve bonnet. This eliminates any need to disassemble the relief system in order to remove the valve bonnet. Some competitive DBB valve designs have the upper port for the relief system located on the upper bonnet. Consequently, the relief system needs to be dismantled whenever the upper trunnion or packing needs to be maintained or repaired. By placing the relief system port on the upper section of the valve body instead of the upper bonnet, the Array Accuseal DBB valve eliminates these additional maintenance requirements.

Treatment of slip sealing surfaces Slip sealing surfaces in the valve body cavity are either inlaid with hard chrome or plated with electroless nickel to ensure a corrosion-free sealing surface for slip seals.

Design of lower trunnion The lower trunnion has been incorporated as an integral part of the lower bonnet and is not part of the plug. This design feature prevents particulates from accumulating in the valve body cavity and interfering with valve function.

Manual Bleed With Thermal Relief to Upstream - Standard This system is designed to decrease excess pressure in the valve body cavity due to temperature changes when the valve is in the closed position. It is similar to a thermal

both manual and automatic relief capabilities. The thermal relief system will vent to upstream when differential pressure exceeds 25 psi. for the automatic relief system to function, the valve controlling the upstream vent must be kept open and the valve controlling the manual bleed to atmosphere must be kept closed.

Manual Bleed to Atmosphere This is a very simple bleed system that is operated manually. When the valve is in the closed position, the manual bleed valve can be opened to confirm plug seal integrity. The manual bleed valve should be closed before opening the plug. Thermal Relief to Upstream With Gauge This system is designed to decrease excess pressure in the valve body cavity due to temperature changes. It is similar to a thermal relief to upstream system but uses a gauge to measure the sealing integrity. A bubble tight seal can therefore be verified at all times without expelling any line media. The thermal relief system will vent to upstream when differential pressure exceeds 25 psi. Thermal Relief to Atmosphere This system is designed to decrease excess pressure in the valve body cavity due to temperature changes when the valve is in the closed position. It is an automatic system that vents to the upstream when differential pressure exceeds 50 psi. Manual Relief to Atmosphere With Thermal Relief from Downstream and Body to Upstream This system is designed to decrease excess pressure in the valve body cavity and downstream components due to temperature changes when the valve is in the closed position. This system operates in the same manner as the standard manual bleed with thermal relief to upstream system, however has the addition of a thermal relief from downstream to upstream. The thermal relief system will vent to upstream when differential pressure exceeds 25 psi. for the automatic relief system to function, the valves controlling the upstream and downstream vents must be kept open and the valve controlling the manual bleed to atmosphere must be kept closed. The relief systems will operate independently of each other.

VALVE OPERATION Opening the Valve Turn the hand-wheel counter clockwise. During this operation the plug is raised while the slips are retracted away from the body. When the slips are fully retracted from the body seating area, the plug is then able to rotate 90 degrees to the fully open position. When the valve is in the full open position, the slips and slip seals are completely protected from line flow. Closing the Valve: Turn the hand-wheel clockwise. During this operation the retracted plug and slips are rotated 90 degrees without body contact. This rotation continues until the slips are positioned over the upstream and downstream port areas. Continued rotation of hand-wheel mechanically forces the plug downward and forces the slips outward to seal firmly against the valve body. This produces a secondary metal to metal seal on both upstream and downstream areas providing double isolation. APPLICATION NOTES iofuels Product Isolation: Secure sealing of Biofuels is B critical in protecting the environment. The Accuseal DBB with its verifiable secure shutoff is perfect when process must be contained. ulti-Product Manifolds: Some pipeline manifolds need M to flow various products (e.g. diesel, jet fuel, gasoline etc.) reliably and without contaminating one another. This Accuseal DBB Valve is used to provide positive shut off and zero leakage to prevent cross contamination. rover Loops: In prover loops., the calibration of flow P meters requires that every valve in the system must have zero leak rate. Any leak could mean an error in calibration. The Accuseal DBB Valve is used to ensure that when the valves in the system are closed, they are leak tight. ustody Transfer Units: Transfer of valuable media relies C on accurate measurement of product. The Accuseal DBB provide secure tight shutoff ensuring that the transfer is accurate. erminals: Loading and unloading tanker vessels requires T positive sealing in order to prevent spillage into the water. The Accuseal DBB provides such positive sealing and is the most reliable in the market. ank Farms (Oil Depots): Valves used for tank isolation T needs to work reliably with zero leak rate. These valves are also operated frequently. The Accuseal DBB valves provide a reliable long term high integrity seal designed for frequent use with verifiable zero leak viation Fueling Systems: fuel hydrants at airports need to A allow for quick maintenance, repair, leak locating and testing. This requires a valve that can close quickly and positively seal off the relevant sections. The Accuseal DBB valves verifiable zero leak rate ensures that maintenace, repair, leak locating and hydrant testing can be done quickly and safely. Import/Export facilities ffshore Platforms: Secure shutoff is imperative on an O offshore platform in that leakage can result in contamination of the water and possible equipment damage. The Accuseal DBB is the best choice for low pressure positive shutoff. lending Units: The accurate blending of high grade fuels B requires valves of high sealing integrity to insure accurate addition of additives in blending operations
