BRITE Engineering Training Program

TIC recognizes that new engineers face the difficult task of selecting a career path. In response to this, we have developed the BRITE program. BRITE, which stands for Beginning Rotation to Integrate Toshiba Engineers, is designed to ease the decision-making process and help transition new engineers into their field by training them in a variety of Toshiba engineering positions. This program is based in Houston, Texas, but trainees may also have the opportunity to travel domestically to interface with customers and observe Toshiba products working in real applications. During this two-year rotation, trainees spend six months working in each of four different areas: 1) design engineering, 2) manufacturing engineering, 3) quality control engineering, and 4) application engineering and technical marketing. Upon successful completion of the twoyear program, the trainees work with managers to determine the next step in their careers.

Application Engineering & Technical Marketing

The application engineering and technical marketing portion of the rotation allows trainees to work in a product department assisting with product development, marketing, and technical sales support. The trainees primary responsibilities include: reviewing customer specifications, providing quotations, advising customers on proper applications and industry guidelines, and assisting the sales force with sales orders. Trainees also develop competitive analyses and support the development of manuals and catalogs for various departments.

BRITE Program Qualifications

Our Manufacturing
Many of TICs products are designed, built, and tested in our 900,000 square foot state-of-theart manufacturing facility in Houston. We have developed a totally integrated manufacturing process from research and development, design, engineering, and manufacturing to aftermarket service and support. At the heart of this process is our unrelenting belief in quality and reliability. We build products to perform in the most difficult conditions. From raw material to the finished product, we assure exacting quality, engineering excellence, and stringent testing to meet domestic and international performance standards. These high standards result in longlasting, highly reliable products.

Design Engineering

The design engineering portion of the rotation allows engineers to learn the manufacturing environment through hands-on experience. Trainees generate and update drawings, handle bills of material, and interpret and design custom orders per customer specifications. Trainees also support the product departments by assisting with quotes, inquiries, value-added cost analyses, vendor contract negotiation, and other special projects.
