Definitions:
In this document the Iollowing words and phrases have the meaning set opposite them unless the context indicates otherwise
ank reIers to Axis ank Limited, a banking company incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 1956 and having its Registered
OIIice at "TRISHUL", Third Floor, Opp. Samartheshwar Temple, Nr. Law Garden, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad - 380 006, Gujarat, India,
including any branch / oIIice thereoI. The term includes the successors and assigns oI the Axis ank Limited.
Axis ank Internet anking is the ank's Internet Service, oIIering the Iollowing Iacilities to the User: alance enquiry, statement oI
account, request Ior issue oI cheque book, view personal account inIormation, details oI holding / statement oI demat accounts and othe
Iacilities as the ank may decide to provide Irom time to time like transIer oI Iunds between accounts.
User reIers to any person who has an account with the ank and who has been authorised by the ank to avail oI Axis ank Internet
anking.
Account reIers to the User's Savings and / or Current Account and / or Fixed Deposit and / or Cash Credit Account and / or Depository
Account and / or any other type oI account so designated by the ank to be covered under the Axis ank Internet anking Iacility.
Terms reIer to terms and conditions Ior use oI Axis ank Internet anking as detailed in this document.
Applicability of terms
These terms Iorm the contract between the User and the ank. y applying Ior Axis ank Internet anking and accessing the service th
User acknowledges and accepts these terms. These terms will be in addition and not in derogation oI the terms and conditions relating t
any account oI the User.
a) Application for Axis Bank Internet Banking:
Axis Bank Internet Banking will be available to the customers upon opening of savings account with the bank, without requiring
completion of any formalities for activation of such service, provided the Primary Applicants mobile no. is shared in section D (Addres
Details). The User would need to be a current legal Internet user or have access to the Internet and knowledge oI how the Internet work
However, at any point oI time the ank may restrict Axis ank Internet anking Iacility to certain customers at its discretion. An
existing bank customer who is not registered Ior Internet anking may Iill up the registration Iorm Ior Axis ank Internet anking and
submit it at any oI the anks branches.Upon receipt oI request in the ank's prescribed Iorm and subject to the satisIaction oI the
eligibility criteria notiIied by the ank, Irom time to time, access shall be provided by the ank at its discretion through Axis ank
Internet anking. The User shall not attempt or permit others to attempt accessing the account inIormation stored in the ank's
computers through any means other than Axis ank Internet anking. The User shall not attempt or permit others to attempt accessing
the account inIormation stored in the ank?s computers which does not relate to his or its account and / or Ior illegal and improper
purposes which, iI done and proved so, will be liable Ior action under the appropriate law and withdrawal oI the Iacility enjoyed.
b) Instructions:
All instructions Ior operating the Axis ank Internet anking Iacility shall be given to the User by Internet in the manner indicated by
the ank. The User is also responsible Ior the accuracy and authenticity oI the instructions so provided to the ank and the same shall b
considered to be suIIicient to operate the Axis ank Internet anking Iacility. The ank shall not be required to independently veriIy th
instructions and the instruction once given is eIIective unless countermanded by Iurther instructions, within a short span oI time. The
ank shall have no liability iI it does not or is unable to stop or prevent the implementation oI the initial instructions. Where the ank
considers the instructions to be inconsistent or contradictory, it may seek clariIication Irom the User or may act upon any instructions as
it may think Iit.
Software
The ank will advise Irom time to time the Internet soItware such as browsers, which are required Ior using Axis ank Internet
anking. There will be no obligation on the ank to support all the versions oI these Internet soItwares. The User shall upgrade his
soItware, hardware and the operating systems at his cost Irom time to time and the ank shall be under no obligation to support the
soItware, hardware, operating systems oI the User and that the same shall be the sole responsibility oI the User.
1oint Accounts
The User desirous oI availing Axis ank Internet anking should either be the account holder and sole signatory or authorised to act
independently in case oI a joint account. For such joint accounts, one User ID and Password will be issued to each oI the joint account
holders when requested. The other joint account holders shall expressly agree with the arrangement and give their consent Ior.
All correspondence will be addressed to the mailing address. All transactions arising Irom the use oI Axis ank Internet anking in the
joint accounts shall be binding on all the joint account holders, jointly and severally. The ank shall in no way be liable Ior any loss /
damage whatsoever that may be incurred or alleged to be incurred by the other joint holder in such an event.
Accounts in the names of minors
In case oI accounts opened Ior and on behalI oI minors, the natural guardian shall undertake to give all instructions relating to the
operation oI the account and Iurther undertake not to reveal the User ID and Password to the minor, which iI done so will be at the risk
and consequences oI the guardian and the ank shall not be liable Ior any loss on that account in case iI the account is operated by the
minor. In such an event the transaction will be deemed to have been undertaken by the guardian.
Security
The ank shall take reasonable care to ensure the security oI and prevent unauthorised access to the Axis ank Internet anking service
using technology reasonably available to the ank.
Password:
The User accepts and unconditionally agrees to the Iollowing:
Upon approval oI the accountholder's application, the customer will be allotted a Login ID and Password to access the Axis ank
Internet anking Iacility.
II the pin mailer reaches the customer in a tampered / damaged condition, the ank will be Iorthwith contacted.
On accessing Axis ank Internet anking Ior the Iirst time, the User shall change the Password assigned by the ank through the
relevant option. The User is at liberty to change the Password as many number oI times as possible at his risk and consequences. The
User will be solely responsible Ior maintaining secrecy oI the Password, so changed, and the ank in no way shall be responsible Ior th
misuse oI the said Password by any person other than the authorised User.
The ank does not assume any responsibility in this behalI including against loss incurred by the User as a result oI misuse /
unauthorised use oI User ID / Password.
In case the User Iorgets the Password, a new Password may be obtained Irom the ank against a written request. Such replacements
shall not be construed / deemed as the commencement oI new contract. In such an event the ank shall provide the new Password withi
a reasonable period. However, till such time no transactions could be eIIected.
Charges
The ank reserves the right to charge and recover Irom the User, charges, iI any, Iixed Ior providing any service under Axis ank
Internet anking Iacility. The User hereby authorises the ank to recover the service charges by debiting one oI the accounts oI the Use
or by sending a bill to the User who will be liable to make the payment within a speciIied period. Failure to do so shall result in recover
oI the service charges by the ank in a manner deemed Iit along with interest, iI any, and / or withdrawal oI Axis ank Internet anking
Iacility without any liability to the ank.
Mailing Address
All correspondence / delivery by the ank oI any instructions or their communication shall only be made at the normal postal address
and / or e-mail address as registered with the ank. The ank shall in no way be held responsible Ior any non-receipt oI the same.
Services Available on Internet Banking
Internet banking will be provided to users with certain deIault Iacilities that do not require second Iactor authentication (Netsecure) as
detailed out in Annexure ?I. To avail all the Iacilities oI Internet anking a user has to register Ior Netsecure (second Iactor
authentication) online by logging into internet banking. The Iacilities available with and without Netsecure are detailed out in Annexure
?I
Cheque Book Issue
A customer can request Ior issue oI a cheque book. The courier charges will be borne by the customer.
Transaction Processing (As and when introduced by the Bank)
All the requests Ior instantaneous Iinancial transactions will be given eIIect instantaneously.
The User shall not hold the ank responsible Ior not processing/eIIecting any transactions in case the ank does not receive instruction
to this eIIect even though the customer has Iorwarded the same.
Issue of Demand Drafts`
Demand DraIt will be issued on the locations where the ank either has a branch or has an arrangement with its correspondent bank at
that location.
Funds Transfer`
The User shall not use or attempt to use Axis ank Internet anking Ior Iunds transIer without suIIicient Iunds in the relative account o
without a pre-existing arrangement with the ank Ior the grant oI an overdraIt. The ank will endeavor to eIIect such Iunds transIer
transactions received through Axis ank Internet anking provided there are suIIicient Iunds available in the User?s account. The ank
shall not be liable Ior any omission to make all or any oI the payments or, Ior late payments due to circumstances beyond the reasonable
control oI the ank.
Bill Payments`
The User shall maintain suIIicient Iunds Ior payment oI bills on the scheduled date. The ank shall not be liable Ior non-payment due to
insuIIicient balance or circumstances beyond the reasonable control oI the ank, including technical problems oI connectivity, compute
breakdown, non-availability oI communication links, etc.
The ank shall in no way be responsible Ior the non-payment oI the User's bills within the time stipulated and the User alone shall be
bound to pay or discharge interest, penalty or any such charges. Further, the ank shall not be called upon to indemniIy the User.
All disputes such as excess billing, disconnection oI service or Iacility, wrong credit or debit by the ank, shall be resolved by the User
only, and the ank shall in no way be responsible Ior the same.
Applicable as and when these facilities are introduced by the Bank.
Authority to the Bank
Axis ank Internet anking transactions in the User's Account(s) are permitted only aIter authentication oI the User ID and Password o
the User. The User (along with the joint account holder, iI any,) grants express authority to the ank Ior carrying out the banking
transactions perIormed by him through Axis ank Internet anking. The ank shall have no obligation to veriIy the authenticity oI any
transaction received Irom the User through Axis ank Internet anking or purporting to have been sent by the User via Axis ank
Internet anking other than by means oI veriIication oI the User-ID and the Password. Illegal or improper use oI the Axis ank Internet
anking Iacility shall render the User liable Ior payment oI Iinancial charges as decided by the ank or will result in the suspension oI
the operations through Axis ank Internet anking.
The display or printed output that is produced by the User at the time oI operation oI Axis ank Internet anking is a record oI the
operation oI the Internet and shall not be construed as the ank?s record oI relative transactions. The ank's own record oI transactions
maintained through computer systems or otherwise shall be accepted as conclusive and binding Ior all purposes unless any discrepancy
is pointed out within one week Irom the date oI access oI his / her / their / its account by the User or Irom the date oI sending the
periodical statement to the User, whichever is earlier.
Accuracy of Information
The User is responsible Ior the correctness oI inIormation supplied to the ank through the use oI Axis ank Internet anking or
through any other means such as electronic mail or written communication. The ank accepts no liability Ior the consequence arising ou
oI erroneous inIormation supplied by the User. The User shall at periodic intervals check the correctness oI the statement and shall
notiIy the ank about any discrepancies that may occur.
All outputs oI statements are duplicate statements oI account and will be prepared by electronic means and the inIormation contained
therein will be extracted Irom a computerized ack up system maintained by the ank. While the ank will take all reasonable steps to
ensure the accuracy oI the statement, the ank is not liable Ior any error. The User shall hold the ank harmless against any loss,
damages, etc. that may be incurred / suIIered by the User iI the inIormation contained in the above said outputs turns out to be inaccurat
/ incorrect.
Liability of the User
The User alone shall be liable Ior any loss Irom unauthorized transactions in the Axis ank Internet anking accounts iI he has breache
the terms or contributed or caused the loss by negligent actions such as the Iollowing:
eeping a written or electronic record oI Axis ank Internet anking Password
Disclosing or Iailing to take all reasonable steps to prevent disclosure oI the Axis ank Internet anking Password to anyone including
any minor, ank staII and/or Iailing to advise the ank oI such disclosure within reasonable time.
Not advising the ank in a reasonable time about unauthorized access to or erroneous transactions in the Axis ank Internet anking
accounts.
The ank shall in no circumstances be held liable by the User iI Axis ank Internet anking access is not available in the desired
manner Ior reasons including but not limited to natural calamity, Iloods, Iire and other natural disasters oI any kind, legal restraints,
Iaults in the telecommunication network or Internet or network Iailure, power breakdown or UPS breakdown, soItware or hardware
Iailure and or error or any other reason beyond the reasonable control oI the ank. The ank shall in no way be liable Ior any loss or
damage that may occur due to hacking oI the account by any persons other than the User, which Iits in the deIinitions oI a 'Cyber
Related Crime' as accepted internationally. The ank shall under no circumstances shall be liable Ior any damages whatsoever whether
such damages are direct, indirect, incidental, consequential and irrespective oI whether any claim is based on loss oI revenue,
investment, production, goodwill, proIit, interruption oI business or any other loss oI any character or nature whatsoever and whether
sustained by the User or any other person.
Indemnity
The User shall indemniIy and hold the ank harmless against all actions, claims, demands, proceedings, losses, damages, costs, charges
and expenses whatsoever which the ank may at any time incur, sustain, suIIer or be put to as a consequence oI or by reason oI arising
out oI providing Axis ank Internet anking Iacility or by reason oI the ank in good Iaith taking or reIusing to take or omitting to take
action on any instruction given by the User.
Disclosure of Personal Information
The User agrees that the ank or its contractors may hold and process his Personal InIormation on computer or otherwise in connection
with Axis ank Internet anking services as well as Ior statistical analysis and credit scoring. The User also agrees that the ank may
disclose, in strict conIidence, to other institutions, such personal inIormation as may be reasonably necessary Ior reasons inclusive oI,
but not limited to, the Iollowing:
For participation in any telecommunication or electronic clearing network.
In compliance with a legal directive.
For credit rating by recognized credit rating / scoring agencies.
For Iraud prevention purposes.
Bank's Lien
The ank shall have the right oI set-oII and lien, irrespective oI any other lien or charge, present as well as Iuture on the deposits held in
the User's accounts whether in single name or joint name(s), to the extent oI all outstanding dues, whatsoever, arising as a result oI the
Axis ank Internet anking service extended to and/or used by the User.
Proprietary Rights
The User acknowledges that the soItware underlying the Axis ank Internet anking service as well as other Internet related soItware
which are required Ior accessing Axis ank Internet anking are the legal property oI the respective vendors. The permission given by
the ank to access Axis ank Internet anking will not convey or conIer any proprietary or ownership rights in the above soItware. The
User shall in no way try to alter / tamper or experiment with the said programme. Any breach on the part oI the User will be dealt under
the appropriate law and User shall be liable Ior damages that may be incurred by the ank.
The User shall not attempt to modiIy, translate, disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer the soItware underlying Axis ank Internet
anking or create any derivative product based on the soItware.
Change of Terms and conditions
The ank has the absolute discretion to amend or supplement any oI the terms at any time The ank may introduce new services within
Axis ank Internet anking Irom time to time. The existence and availability oI the new Iunctions will be notiIied to the User as and
when they become available.. y using these new services, the User agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions as applicable and se
Iorth Irom time to time on the website www.axisbank.com
Non-Transferability
The grant oI Iacility oI Axis ank Internet anking to a User is not transIerable under any circumstance and shall be used only by the
User.
Notices
The ank and the User may give notices under these Terms and Conditions:
Electronically to the mailbox oI either party. Such notices will be regarded as being in writing.
In writing by delivering them by hand or by sending them by post to the last address given by the User and in the case oI the ank to th
address mentioned below: Axis ank Ltd., Central OIIice, Maker Towers 'F', 13th Floor, CuIIe Parade, Colaba, Mumbai - 400 005 In
addition, the ank may also publish notices oI general nature, which are applicable to all Users oI Axis ank Internet anking on its
web site. Such notices will have the same eIIect as a notice served individually to each User and or that oI a notice published in a
newspaper oI print media.
Governing Law
The User may request Ior termination oI the Axis ank Internet anking Iacility anytime by giving a written notice oI at least 15 days t
the ank. The User will remain responsible Ior any transactions made on his Axis ank Internet anking account(s) through Axis ank
Internet anking prior to the time oI such cancellation oI Axis ank Internet anking Iacility.
Any dispute or diIIerence arising between the User and the ank shall be settled by mutual consultation / discussion Iailing which, the
same shall be reIerred to Arbitration. The Arbitration proceedings shall be governed and conducted in accordance with the Indian
Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1998 and that the Arbitration proceedings shall take place in Mumbai.
The ank accepts no liability whatsoever, direct or indirect, Ior non-compliance or breach oI the laws oI any country other than the
Republic oI India. The mere Iact that the Axis ank Internet anking service can be accessed through Internet by a User in a country
other than India shall not be interpreted to imply that the laws oI the said country shall govern these terms and conditions and/or the
operations in the Axis ank Internet anking accounts oI the User and/or the use oI Axis ank Internet anking. The User oI the Axis
ank Internet anking Iacility by a person Irom any place other than India will not alter the situation and the said User shall be deemed
to have submitted himselI to the laws oI the Republic oI India
Termination of Axis Bank Internet Banking facility
The User may request Ior termination oI the Axis ank Internet anking Iacility anytime by giving a written notice oI at least 15 days t
the ank. The User will remain responsible Ior any transactions made on his Axis ank Internet anking account(s) through Axis ank
Internet anking prior to the time oI such cancellation oI Axis ank Internet anking Iacility.
The ank may withdraw Axis ank Internet anking Iacility anytime provided the User is given reasonable notice under the
circumstances
The closure oI all Axis ank Internet anking accounts by the User will automatically terminate the Iacility
The ank may suspend or terminate Axis ank Internet anking Iacilities without prior notice iI the User has committed breach oI thes
terms and conditions or the ank learns oI the death, bankruptcy or legal incapacity oI the User.
General
The clause headings in this agreement are only Ior convenience and do not eIIect the meaning oI the relative clause. The User shall not
assign this agreement to anybody else. The ank may subcontract and employ agents to carry out any oI its obligations under this
contract.
