Research Plan

A) Question: Does polluted water affect the vacuoles and therefore the mass?

Hypothesis: If the plant is placed in three different types of pollution, then the mass of the plant will either increase or decrease depending on the plant, because of what substances are contained in the pollution. B) Method or Procedure:
1. Place three different containers, to put a plant in each of them

2. With a measuring cup add 150Ml to each of the containers with the plant 3. Put containers with plant, and the pollution water aside for about 2 days
4. Record any observations to see if any change occurred, but at the night let the plants

sit until the next day 5. On the 2 day of the experiment take the last observations, and take out the water pollution 6. Pour it in the measuring cup
7. Write down if the plant absorbed, or if it did not observe the water pollution 8. Then, dispose of water pollution either placed in a bottle and have it thrown away, or

down the toilet Data Analysis: 1. Make a chart to record any observation starting from day 1 to day 2: Day 1 Day 2 Time

Compare the measurements from the three plants to see which plant absorbed the most water, or to see if the plant did not absorb any water. Check if the hypothesis was right or wrong. C) Hazardous Chemicals Risks: When drinking these pollutants, it can cause major health problems. It causes animals to die, that have drunken any of the types of pollution. Can cause diseases, or infections.
D) Type of Hazardous equipment: Any gloves should be worn to protect the hands from

the water pollutants, do not want to get any of it on the hands. E) Materials: 1. 3 containers 2. 3 of the same plant 3. Measuring cups 4. Tape 5. Marker 6. water pollutant; surface water pollution
