Asynchronous Assignment Week One The two videos I viewed were on slightly different issues, yet both involved our government and laws. The first video I watched was titled John Stossel-Gun Laws That Kill. John Stossel, the main speaker in the clip, is a reporter for FOX news. He has the creditials to research almost any topic and seemed very well-informed on the topic discussed in the present video. Stossel also featured many guest speakers, who were all victims of gun crimes and were not given an opportunity to protect themselves. Stossel is a reporter on a democratic station with the goal of inspiring Americans to vote in favor of allowing citzens to carry firearms in any public place. The guest speakers were equipped with the wisdom of experience, and all three of the guests had lost family members since they were not permitted to bear arms. There was an audience present at the time, but further than the live audience, this video was also aired to all FOX viewers and any YouTube users. The situation remained very professional and informative. Stossel provided many sources himself and through his many guest speakers. Including statistics on crime after gun laws were passed and quotes from American founders on the subject.

Asynchronous Assignment Week One The second video I viewed was titled Don't Buy Health Care, Get A 5 Year Felony And Loss of All Rights. The speaker in this film was Repersentative Ted Poe, who has become familiar with the House of Repersentatives, the U.S. government and the new health care law. He possesses republican values and the goal of informing Americans about their liberties becoming very opressed. The audience of the presentation were the members of the House of Repersentatives and any YouTube viewers. The situation was very professional, more so than the prior video. Rep. Poe appeared extremely passionate about his issue, which is likely to draw listeners in, and cited the actual bill along with the Constitution to help his cause. However, at times, he seemed to repeat himself and only had a limited amount of speaking time. I feel as if the first video was far more effective due to Stossels guests and other resources. Gun Laws That Kill left me, part of the audience, with a new found passion for gun crimes. The victims stories leave their audience with eerie chills and sympathy, which is inspiring when trying to persuade people in favor of a cause.
