To Change is To Risk We can plan for change but we must be able to let go of the outcome It requires giving something up without knowing for certain the next step will be better Patterns of Change and Risk Taking Ways in which you've met changes and losses in the past determine your patterns of change and risk in the present Phase 1 - Prepare Recognize your need to change or risk Decide to change or risk

Phase 2 - Commit Initiate the Risk Accept the Point of No Return

Phase 3 - Complete Follow through to complete the risk

Ask yourself these questions: Change How do you cope with the possibility or threat of change? How do you deal with the natural resistance you feel to change? What are the conditions that make it easier for you to change? How can you manage potential conflict you might experience with others with you decide to change?

Risking Is this risk necessary? Can I reach my goal in another way? What can I gain if I take this risk? What can I lose if I take this risk? What do I need to know before I take this risk? What would happen if, after preparing to risk I didnt risk now? What would happen if I take this risk? Am I ready?
