Cayuga County District Attorney Jon Budelmann announced today a county-wide drug sweep involving multiple arrests of offenders for possession and sale of: cocaine, heroin and marihuana. The Finger Lakes Drug Task Force, Cayuga County Sheriffs Department, Auburn Police Department, New York State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshalls Office, and the Cayuga County District Attorneys Office all participated in todays Drug Sweep. We wish to thank the Court for its cooperation as well. DA Budelmann commented: The scourge of illegal drug sales continues to plague our community. I hope that todays high profile drug sweep sends a strong message to those engaging in, or contemplating illegal drug activity, that this community will not tolerate illegal drugs sales. In Cayuga County Court this morning, several indictments were unsealed against the following: Casey Kudla (age 19) of 145 Waterloo Street, Clyde, New York was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B drug felonies, for allegedly selling and possessing cocaine in the Town of Aurelius. Kudla faces a maximum sentence of 18 years in state prison for these charges. Kudla was remanded to jail in lieu of $7,500 cash $15,000 bond with a return date to court set for December 15 for appearance with counsel. Mario Temple (age 37) of 48 Orchard Street, City of Auburn, was charged with four counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B drug felonies, for allegedly selling and possessing cocaine in the City of Auburn. Temple faces a maximum sentence of 36 years in state prison for these charges. Temple was remanded to jail in lieu of $15, 000 cash $30,000 bond with a return date to court set for February 28 for motions. Saleem Spencer (age 28) of 6 Rock Avenue, City of Auburn, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B drug felonies, for allegedly selling and possessing cocaine in the City of Auburn. Spencer faces a maximum sentence of 24 years in state

prison for these charges. Spencer was remanded to jail in lieu of $10, 000 cash $20,000 bond with a return date to court set for December 15 for appearance with counsel. Steven Reynolds (age 31) of 5921 Lower Lake Avenue, Cayuga was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B drug felonies, for allegedly selling and possessing heroin in the City of Auburn. Reynolds faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in state prison for these charges. Reynolds was remanded to jail in lieu of $10, 000 cash $20,000 bond with a return date to court set for December 20 for appearance with counsel. Eugene Lewis a/k/a Peoples (age 48) of 412 Oakwood Avenue, City of Syracuse, was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both Class B drug felonies, for allegedly selling and possessing cocaine in the City of Auburn. Lewis faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in state prison for these charges. Lewis was remanded to jail in lieu of $15, 000 cash $30,000 bond with a return date to court set for December 20 for appearance with counsel. Elisha Jackson (age 23) of West William Street, Waterloo, was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both Class B drug felonies, for allegedly selling and possessing cocaine in the Town of Aurelius. Jackson faces a maximum sentence of 9 years in state prison for these charges. Jackson was remanded to jail in lieu of $7, 500 cash $15,000 bond with a return date to court set for December 20 for appearance with counsel. Derrick Grassman (age 33) of 78 Utica Street, Port Byron, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of Marihuana in the Third Degree, both Class E felonies, for allegedly selling marihuana greater than 25 grams, in the Town of Mentz. Grassman faces a maximum sentence of 3 years in state prison for these charges. Grassman was remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 cash $20,000 bond with a return date to court set for December 15 for appearance with counsel.
