Newly Constructed Apartments for Rent
VIA VERDE RENTAL APARTMENTS is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 133 affordable housing
rental apartments now under construction at 704 - 706 Brook Avenue in the Melrose section of The Bronx. This building is
being constructed through the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Developments Low Income Rental Program
(LIRP), the New York City Housing Development Corporations New Housing Opportunities Program (NHOP) and the New York State
Homes and Community Renewals New York State Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program (SLIHC). The size, average rent and
targeted income distribution of the 133 apartments is as follows:

Applicants will be required to meet income guidelines and additional selection criteria. Applications must be requested by postcard
only from: Via Verde Rental Apartments, 303 Park Avenue South, PMB 1122, and New York, NY 10010 or downloaded from
www.phippsny.org/housing_app.html. Completed Applications must be returned by Regular Mail ONLY (No priority, certifed,
registered, express or overnight mail will be accepted) to a post offce box number that will be listed with the application, and
must be postmarked by December 27, 2011. Applications post marked after December 27, 2011 will be set aside for possible
future consideration. Applications will be selected by lottery; applicants who submit more than one application will be disqualifed.
Disqualifed applications will not be accepted. Preference will be given to New York City residents. Current and eligible residents
of Bronx Community Board 1 will receive preference for 50% of the units. Eligible households that include persons with mobility
impairments will receive preference for 5% of the units; eligible households that include persons with visual and/or hearing impairments
will receive preference for 2% of the units; and eligible City of New York Municipal employees will receive a 5% preference.
No Brokers Fee or Application Fee Should Be Paid at anytime in Connection With These Applications.

Jobs Creation Grant
US Dept. of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) supports
development in economically distressed areas of the United States by fostering job
creation and attracting private investment. Specifcally, under the FFO, EDA will consider
construction, non-construction, and revolving loan fund investments under the Public
Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance programs.
Grants made under these programs will leverage regional assets to support the implementation
of regional economic development strategies designed to create jobs, leverage private capital,
encourage economic development, and strengthen Americas ability to compete in the
global marketplace. Under the FY 2012 FFO, EDA solicits applications from rural and
urban communities to develop initiatives that advance new ideas and creative approaches to
address rapidly evolving economic conditions.
Te next four funding cycle deadlines are: (i) December 15 for funding cycle 2 of FY 2012;
(ii) March 9 for funding cycle 3 of FY 2012; (iii) June 8 for funding cycle 4 of FY 2012; and
(iv) September 14 for funding cycle 1 of FY 2013.

Harlem Incubator
New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking proposals
from qualifed individuals, organizations, or companies to develop, operate and maintain
an incubator space in the Manhattan neighborhood of Harlem, preferably along, or within
a two-block walk of 125th Street. NYCEDC may make certain funding available to help
cover specifc incubator start-up costs and operating expenses.
NYCEDC will consider incubator programs for (i) startup businesses in technology, new
media, or services sectors, generally, (ii) co-working space for freelancers, entrepreneurs,
small businesses, and startups, or (iii) a combination thereof. Food use or similar programs
will not be considered for purposes of this incubator.
Te incubator should provide a much needed space for entrepreneurship and innovation in
Harlem.

Grant Administration and Management
NYC Ofce of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) has been the recipient of numerous
Federal and State grants which enable us to enhance and maintain our current work in the
interest of criminal justice and public health, and provide us the means to advance science
in pursuit of our goals for the beneft of the public.
Te OCME is seeking the services of a qualifed vendor to provide timely administrative
services in support of grant-funded programs. Te selected vendor will support these
programs by assisting in the recruitment of personnel, procuring grant-mandated goods and
services, and complying with all administration, reporting and documentation requirements
of the grants.
It is anticipated that the term of the contract awarded from this solicitation will be for three
(3) years, with two (2) one (1) year option(s) to renew.

Program
Te Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Programs purpose is to provide
supportive services grants to private non-proft organizations and consumer cooperatives
