Organisation of the Workshop Room
Think about how you would like to organise the room for your presentation. You may like to discuss this with the Roll Call teacher prior to beginning the workshop. Some options: - Normal classroom arrangement, semi-circle of tables and chairs, circle of tables and chairs, groups of tables and chairs If you do rearrange the room, remember to arrange the room back to how it was before you leave. Do you need the computer and data projector? Check your lesson plan and make sure they are switched on and ready to go at the before you start the workshop?

Introduction:
Today we are going to explore an issue that relates to being a good digital citizen which means participating safely with digital technology including things like computers, mobile phones and the internet. Being a good digital citizen is important whether you are at home, work or school. We are focusing on the issue of Password Privacy

Ask staff to assist with the organisation of students

Explanation:
How many passwords do you have? These days you need a password for your laptop, to access the internet and your email, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Foursquare, sometimes even to recharge your mobile phone or internet access at home. It is important that you are aware of how important is it to keep your password safe otherwise you may find yourself the target of identity theft or being responsible for online actions that you did not commit.

Make sure the computer, data projector and speakers are switched on. Ask staff to login to Internet.

9.08 9.13am

Explanation:
Very obvious passwords like your birthday, the name of your pet or favourite TV show are might be easy for you to remember but are also very easy for some else to guess. A good, strong password (one which is very difficult for some else to guess) is one which has a combination of letters and numbers. It is also better to try not to have any doubling up of numbers or letters.

Ask staff to assist with the organisation of students if necessary

Activity 2: Password Strength Checker

Go to this website to check how strong your password is. You do not have to put in your real password but your might want to try out a few combinations to check how well they are rated. The higher the score, the better your password is.
