Srimadbhagavata is the ripened fruit of the tree of Vedas and is full of nectar that flows from the teachings

of Sri Suka Maharshi. Hey! The devotees come again and again to rejoice in this Bhagavata Katha RasaAmrutham. In the Prahlada Samhita of the Skanda Purana, in the section describing the glory of Dwaraka is this statement, "A person who stays up (on the night of Ekadasi) and recites the Srimad Bhagavata with devotion in front of the Deity of Lord Hari goes to the abode of Lord Hari with all his family members." The bhagavata teaches us to be ready for the call of fate (kaala). The stories of Khatwanga and Parikshith tells us that death is inevitable but with proper sadhana one can escae the cycle of birth and death. It tells us that getting a human body is a boon as it is for sadhaana and if we do not do any sadhaana now we lose this opportunity to redeem all our paapas past and present. The glory of Bhagavata is explained in a story when Sage Narada encounters a young lady on the banks of river Yamuna. She asks Narada why are my children old when iam young? She was Bhakthi and her old children were Knowledge and Renunciation (Jnana and Vairagya). Because of the impact of Kaliyuga all the 3 lost their youth .Bhakthi gained her youth the movement she entered Vrindavan but her children didnt. Narada tried reciting all Vedas, Vedanta Shasthras before them but they were barely able to open their eyes. Then Narada heard a celestial voice saying that if you do the Bhagavata saptaha the knowledge devotion and renunciation will become youthful again. Such is the power behind this Bhgavata Saptaha. Listening to expositions by the wise is much better than reading oneself; or, one can be looking into the text while listening. It is preferable to listen in company, rather than alone. Of course, it is excellent to listen with a number of earnest aspirants. If the person who expounds has had the thrill of genuine experience, then it is the most supreme luck, for it yields best results. For, his face will blossom into joy, his eyes will shed tears of joy at the very contemplation of the glory of the Lord. Those who listen to him will catch that inspiration. kAla vyAla mukhagrAsathrAsanirNAsha hEthavE I shrI madbhAgavatham shAsthram kalau kIrENa bhAshitham II ashwamedha sahasrANi vajapEya shathAni cha I shuka shasthras kathAyAscha kalAm nArhanthi shOdasheem II which means that to free oneself from the death caused due to the bite of the serpent called mrityu, the only way is to depend on the path light of Shri Shuka muni i.e., Bhagavatha

The punya gained from reading/listening bhagavatha is much more than 16 times of 1000 ashwamedha yajnas and 100 vajapeya yagas put together.
