are properties of a robotic methodology. We are talking here of an age knocked our doors with immense possibilities of most advanced technology of future years ago but yet to be explored. Even we have come miles in research and development of Robotics. The cutting edge, widened view and imbibed living with this technological cluster still missing. Without wasting our time Ill start with robotic applications and involving areas. Simultaneous localization and mapping Software engineering Speech processing Support vector machines Robotic surgery Remote surgery Robotassisted heart surgery Swarm robotics Ant robotics Telepresence Intelligent vehicle technologies Computer vision Machine vision Ohh my god !!!!! so huge field for learning, research and development. I would like to tell you that if you are an robotic engineer then you can also start as an entrepreneur in Robotics. And if you are science graduate, Electrical, mechanical, electronics, Mechotronics, computer science and information technology engineering professional. Then you just need not worry either as what you need to enter robotics you have already have it. And to excel in robotics topics and subjects of which a good understanding and command over one should be there. Mechotronics Drives and control system of robots Advanced Solid mechanics Kinematics and dynamics of robots Sensors Programming Haptics Computational geometry Artificial intelligence Industrial robotics Robotic simulation Modern material handling system Manufacturing system automation We will now discuss above mentioned topics in brief orderly. So need your suggestions as well. Mechotronics Robotics is mechatronics. It spans mechanical elements, gear trains, sensors, motor design, electromagnetic, servo control, all the way up to communications protocols, controls software and binary programming. The layer on top of all of that is software, algorithms and user interfaces. Mechatronics is a word originated in Japan in 1980s to denote the combination of Technologies which go together to produce industrial robots. A formal definition of Mechatronics is ``the synergistic integration of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computer technology, and IT to produce or enhance products and systems.

Examples of such systems are Computers, Disk drives, Photocopiers, Fax machines, VCR, Washing machines, CNC

machine tools, Robots, etc. Todays modern cars are also Mechatronics product with the usage of electronic engine management system, collision detection, global positioning system, and others. IMPLEMENTATION Mechatronics uses theoretical and practical knowledge using an approach in which true and systematic information can be transferred to the preliminary and detailed engineering design. There is a need to break the system into subsystems to help in the visualisation of the problem so that several expert designers can work together. In order to exemplify this last statement the case of a factory manufacturing sewing machines which is planning to enhance the production performance by introducing auxiliary equipment in the manufacturing line has been selected. Since the manufacturing of sewing require high quality standards the implementation of mechatronics in the design of the auxiliary equipment can be well be considered a technological challenge. The knowledge summarised in the previous section is to be used in the assembly of the Thread Take Up (TTU) subsystem The three components of the thread take up (TTU) subsystem maybe assembled in the following order. Starting with the placement of the TTU link on the fixture specially designed for the purpose the placement of the lever on top of the link is continued with the fitting stud to connect the link and the lever. The final stage is the riveting the stud in order to permanently connect the link to the lever. Mechotronics can offer the possibility of studying different combination of subassemblies in order the find the optimal solutions. In order to enhance the already implemented methods, sensors can be added to check the compliance of the components during the assembly process. We argue that this first case will shed light to many other subassemblies we can find in a sewing machine. The comparative analysis of assembly of the other combination of subsystems will remain as the challenge for the future work. For most Mechotronics systems, the main issue is no more how to implement a control system, but how to implement actuators and what is the energy source. Within the Mechotronics field, mainly two movement: the piezo-electric actuators and motors, or the electromagnetic actuators and motors. Maybe the most famous mechatronics systems are the well known camera autofocus system or camera anti-shake systems. Concerning the energy sources, most of the applications use batteries. But a new trend is arriving and is the energy harvesting, allowing transforming into electricity mechanical energy from shock, vibration, or thermal energy from thermal variation, and so on. CONCLUSION The design of complex products and processes require that the synergistic integration of mechanical, electronic and information engineering knowledge be encouraged. Starting from the description of the "world" in which such complex products or processes are expected to operate, mechatronics provides the frame for an integrating approach. These products or processes are composed of sensors and actuators which are jointly driven by an intelligent system including data acquisition and decision making units. The composite whole is supported by a knowledge-based system. It is expected that such a comprehensive system, given a clearly defined goal, will be able to operate autonomously and plan its way within the circumstances in which it operates.

List of colleges offering B.Tech Mechatronics engineering courses College Name - University(State) Bharath University - Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research(Tamil Nadu) Maharishi Markandeshwar Engineering College - Maharishi Markandeshwar University(Haryana) Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy - Shanmugha Arts Science Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) University (Tamil Nadu) Sri Belimatha Maha Sahamsthana Institute Of Technology - Visvesvaraya Technological University (Karnataka) Srm University, chennai - SRM University(Tamil Nadu) Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology - CBIT(A.P) Manipal University - Manipal University (Karnataka) GCET - GCET (Gujarat) Sardar Patel University - Sardar Patel University(Gujarat) There are many more this is just a small list to get you thinking... Having a B.Tech degree in Mechatronics will be able to help you i.e. you will have no need to again try out the other parts of robotics as both Mechanics and Electronics will be involved in this branch of engineering M.Tech in Robotics:Though you finished B.Tech in Mechatronics it doesnt mean that you are good enough to be a Robot Engineer .You will need additional qualification i.e. Specialisation in the field of robotics So, you have to get a Postgraduate from a college in Robotics. Again here also there is some bifurcation like design and control, Artificial intelligence, Maintenance, computer vision and machine learning etc. Some of the Engineering colleges in India offer M.Tech in robotics besides you can also opt for other foreign institutes like MIT, CMU etc if you think they will fit into your pocket (* you will need a Plethora of ATMs to pay their fees but if talented you could manage to get some Scholarships from somewhere and make it up to those colleges but I bet you not a single penny of your will go waste for the research facilities they offer! M.Sc/MS Abroad? The first thing you need to think of is the financial burden! Its a fact that many students even in their own country cant afford those institutes. So, the first thing youll need to think is whether you can afford your Education! of course there will be a number of financial options provided by the different banks in India and abroad also the colleges themselves offer some financial assistance nevertheless there will still be some financial problems once you decided that you are sound enough to make it or get lucky with some Scholarships then youll need to take some examinations like GRE , IELTS etc even you will need some excellent recommendations from eminent faculty and also work done by you to get into those universities . For more details about the Course expenses there is detailed information on the websites of all the institutes from food to bed everything is neatly explained. Having said this ill now give out some names of the colleges offering Robotics as a subject abroad. List of Colleges offering Robotics as a Subject abroad.
