Club Development
A major milestone in the history of the Kawana Waters Surf Lifesaving club was reached recently when the Sunshine Coast Council approved an application for the redevelopment of the surf club. Something the Club has been grappling with for many years. Through the magnificent backing of major Sponsor Tomkins Developments and with the assistance of Insite Constructions, acting on behalf of the club the Kawana Surf Club has been able to obtain this Development Approval. The club is shovel ready which is an essential pre-requisite when applying for Grants.
The Council has been very helpful in providing the Approval in a timely fashion. We thank, Cr Chris Thompson and Cr Debbie Blumel for their support. Email from Cr Thompson
Yesterday I received the planning officer's assessment report on the development application submitted for the redevelopment of the surf club. I support the officer's recommendation to approve the application and wish the club every success for the future. Kind Regards, Cr Chris Thompson (Division 4)
Sunshine Coast Regional Council
The redevelopment of the surf club will be completed over 5 Stages as set out in the approved master plan and depending on funding arrangements, sponsorships and grants should be completed over the next 10 years, making it a social hub for the community of Kawana Waters, one of the most rapidly expanding communities in Queensland. There was overwhelming community support from both our members and the community at large with over 300 letters of support received.
