MUDDLE AIM:

Fabricate an autonomous machine which should be able to traverse from one end of the maze to another crossing the obstacles in path .

RULES:
Competition Rules 1. The goal of the competition is to reach the Finish Zone marked green in the least possible time. In doing so the machine must cross the checkpoint lines and enter the Finish Zone completely, while remaining in contact with the arena all the time. Any other mode of completing the task will be considered against the competition rules and lead to disqualification. The time duration of one match will be 3 minutes. 2. At the beginning of the game, only one participant from the team will have to place their machine in the Start Zone marked red and start it once the time has begun. Two trials would be given for each team to complete the task. The trial with the best points would be accounted. 3. The team with maximum number of points at the end of the match will be the winning team. Point System 1. Points= 20 x No. of checkpoints crossed + (180 time taken to complete the task in seconds). Crossing of checkpoint will be accomplished only when the whole machine will cross over the checkpoint line completely. (Refer figures). 4. Restart: In case of any technical difficulty on the part of the team, the autonomous machine can be repositioned in the start zone by one team member. Only two restarts per match per team is allowed. The handling time is also included in the total match time and no extra time will be allocated. The time will keep on running and wont be stopped while the restart is being executed. 5. Tie breaker: In case of a tie, all the teams tied with same points will be given one try each to complete the task again. The team having more number of points will be declared winner. If the tie still persists then the same method will be repeated till the tie is broken. 6. The participants are not allowed to enter the arena at any point of time during the game (except for the case explained in case of restart). Only one participant would be allowed to touch the machine for a restart after getting the permission from the person in-charge to do so. 7. Failure to follow any of the above rules will lead to disqualification of the team from the event.

Machine Specifications 1. The machine must fit in a box of dimension 200m x 200mm (Length x Breadth) prior to the event. There is no restriction on height of the machine. 2. The autonomous machine is not allowed to dismember itself or leave parts on any part on the arena. The match will be considered over only when the whole machine is in the finish area. Any controversial decision in such cases at the time of match will be taken by the judges. 3. The machine must not in any way damage the arena. Doing so will lead to disqualification from the event. Power Supply and Propulsion 4. The machine must use power converted from a source of DC (max. 24V) electrical energy. Commercial batteries like dry cells and lead acid cells are permitted. Chemicals, compressed gas and rockets, IC engines, fuel, combustion power methods are strictly prohibited. 5. The machine must have an onboard source of power. External source of power is not allowed
