X 1 lugeon unit is the type of permeability where grouting is hardly necessary. X 10 lugeones warrants grouting for most seepage reduction jobs. In this project, 2 types of grout are proposed for the grouting work: a.) Cement Bentonite Grout Cement Bentonite Grout will be used in the Fissure Rock Grout. The cement water ratio between the range 2.0:1 to 0.8:1. 0. W / C

4.3 Indication of Lugeon Value to Permeability To give a sense of proportion for the unit: x 1 lugeon unit is the type of permeability where grouting is hardly necessary. x 10 lugeons warrants grouting for most seepage reduction jobs. x 100 lugeons is the type of permeability met in heavily jointed sites with relatively open joints or in sparsely cracked foundations where joints are very wide open. 5. GROUTING MIX SPECIFICATION 5.1 Type of Grout After the Lugeon test, the permeability value will be used to decide the type of grout and the mix proportion to be used for the fissure rock grout. If the lugeon value is equal or less than 1 lugeon value or 1 x 10 -7 a.) Cement Bentonite Grout m/s, there will not be required to carry out the fissure grout. In this project, 2 types of grout are proposed for the grouting work: b.) Microfine Cement Grout 5.1.1 Cement Bentonite Grout Cement bentonite grout will be used in the fissure rock grout. The cement water ratio between the range 2.0:1 to 0.8:1. 0.8 < W/C < 2.0 Values hereafrer are given for reference and have only an indicative value: Bentonite: 2 to 3% of cement in weight PROJECT DOWN TOWN LINE 2 Method Statement for Fissure Rock Grout
5.1.2 Microfine Cement Grout These mixes may be used to reduce seepage monitoring in finely cracked media. The water cement ratio is between 1< W/C < 1.3. 5.2 Threshold Value for Grouting Initially contact grout will be carried out at the toe level of the diaphragm wall. After this the fissure rock grout will be commenced for the continue coring depth to seal the fissure at the treated area in order to stop the seepage of ingress water while excavation. Threshold value for each type of grout is shown in the below table Stop fissure grout: (a) If grouting pressure _ Pr, reIusal pressure (20 bar) Grouting Criteria (b) If grouting volume _ Vmax, volume maximum Re-grout : (a) If previous grouting stopped due to reach the Vmax prior to refusal Pressure. (re-grout with different type of grout or more viscous grout (Lower water cement ratio) Type of Grout Contact grouting Grouting Stop Seepage Water ingress Grout Volume Maximum, Vmax 80 (0.5m depth grout hole volume + 6% of the treated volume)
Z 12 80 (1m depth grout hole volume + 3% of the treated volume)
