BILLS PROPOSAL PETA#2

MY DIFFERENT LAWS, MY DIFFERENT GOALS

Name: Fritzie Achelle C. Saavedra Year and Section: III- St. Claudia Teacher: Mr. Christian Joseph Legazpi

1. The Detainment years of people violating federal firearms laws should be doubled. Objective: Those who transport firearms across state lines for unlawful purposes are subject to imprisonment for up to 20 years and may be fined. Penalties are more severe for subsequent convictions. In the event of a crime in which someone is injured, the prison term may be increased to 30 years. If a fatality results, the bill requires a life sentence or death penalty, depending on the circumstances. Probationary or suspended sentences are prohibited, as is the imposition of concurrent sentences. Benefit for all: It will assure the safety of all and it will help crime rate to go down somehow. What will happen? The first step in the campaign against hardened criminals is to build more prisons. Overcrowding has forced many states to release some violent criminals from jail after serving only about one-third of their sentences. Before more criminals can be incarcerated, they must be apprehended. Accordingly, more police are needed to stem the rising tide of crime. 2. Children below 10 years of age that are seen vending or loitering on the streets must be apprehended to DPWH. Objective: It helps in stopping child exploitation. It gives them the right to organize and have a collective bargaining, freedom from forced labor, child labor and discrimination. These children will have the experience being treated like a child again. And if possible this will stop illiteracy rate too. Benefits for children: They will have the chance to have parents who could possibly give them more than what they have before. They can have a normal childhood. What will happen? The child will be interviewed and be asked to bring to the possible guardian and if proven that there is exploitation going on then the child will be automatically brought to DPWH.

Consequence if violated: The said guardian will be punished according to Human Rights Violation law. Values Clarification: It is to protect the rights of the children. 3. Gender equality and Womens Empowerment Bill proposal Objective: The overall objective of the call for proposals is to contribute to the promotion of womens social and economic empowerment and rights. To develop and strengthen sustainable initiatives at local and national level promoting: 1. Womens equal access to and control of economic resources. 2. Equal access to existing and/or new services that are instrumental to increasing womens social and economic protection and well being and their participation in economic growth. 3. Dissemination of relevant good practice. Support for and strengthening at local and national level of the capacity of public bodies, non-state actors and private companies to participate in processes promoting the protection of womens rights in the economic and financial sectors, and womens equal access to and participation in economic opportunities including information exchange, networking and partnership building.

Support for the development and implementation of gender-sensitive initiatives addressing inequality, discrimination and vulnerability hampering womens full participation in the economy in an integrated, multi-sector approach. Benefits for women: In addition to the advantages for development, studies point to a positive effect of female participation gender equality for democracy. Primary school attainment of women is positive for democracy. Moreover especially equal educational opportunities are good for democracy. Women are better able to organize and express their preferences.

This article will explore whether gender equality contributes to peace because it promotes development and good governance, factors that are conflict-impeding. This is an alternative explanation to the more direct relationship that sees the benefit of female political participation because women are more peaceful either by nature or by socialization.

Consequences if violated: Possible punishment will depend on the human rights violation law.

Values Classification: It is to protect the rights of all women especially here in the Philippines whereas women are treated not equally.

4.Waste treatment should be taught in Barangays. Objective: The central objective of teaching waste policy is to increase the awareness in reducing the harmful health and environmental impacts of waste. And it should be established for all. The purpose of the waste act is to support sustainable development by promoting the rational use of natural resources, and preventing and combating the hazard and harm to health and the environment arising from wastes. In general, it requires the recovery of waste if this is technically and economically feasible, primarily in the form of material and secondarily as energy. There are also assigned general duties for producers, manufacturers, importers and authorities to minimize generation of waste in all activities and to ensure that waste doesnt significantly hamper or complicate the organization of waste management, or result in hazard or harm to health or the environment.

Benefit for all: One of the most alluring benefits of waste management is that it excludes the requirements of burying or burning the waste that can cause health risks to

those living nearby to the area. Solid is considered as the perfect means to recycle the waste and convert it into some useful material. Consequence if violated: According to an article I read this would be the punishment for violating a bill like this: a. First time violators will be fined P300 and have to attend a mandatory solid waste management seminar. Anyone cited for violation but will refuse to pay the penalty will be sued. b. For second time offenders, the fine is P500 and/or the community service for 5 days. Third time violators will fined P1, 000 and/ or 10 days of community service and for the fourth offense, a case will be filed against them in court punishable with six months imprisonment plus P3,000 fine and 15 days of community service.

5.NO Heavy taxation bill Objective: The objective of this is to ensure that no one is allowed, while selling their products is allowed to put so much tax on their products and services. Especially on some companies who have so much tax even if there is no change in their services and also, in some government facilities and public roads who put so much charge on their services. This is also to ensure that people have the equal tax and also, the government receiving the right amount to serve its people.

Benefit for all: The main benefit of this bill is to ensure that people are paying the right amount of money they are about to pay. To be fair to them especially of those who have insufficient income. And also for them to get the fair and good services from which they are paying.

Consequence if violated:

Possible punishments for this bill will depend under the human violations law and also to the fair taxation law. Values Clarification: It is to protect the rights of people to pay the right and fair dues they have to pay for the services they are receiving.
