This site gives information on the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to be an teacher at the postsecondary level. It gives a myriad of information regarding wages, employment trends, and daily tasks and activities. This site is reliable, as they get their information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Although there isnt as much information here as there is on the BLS site, it is well-organized and easy to read. "Elementary, Middle, and High School Teachers." This website displays a simple, easy-to-read profile showing the basics of the teaching career. It offers advice on what current high school students can do to prepare for a career in the field. Although not as detailed as databases such as O*Net OnLine, this website does a good job on giving the researcher plenty of information including real teachers quotes, aiding their decision on whether or not they would like to pursue the career. This database portrays a very detailed outlook on the Education career. The database is up to date and very reliable as it is a government website. It describes the nature of the work, the education requirements, and the growth outlook. It also offers sources of additional information, which is very helpful. Kelly, Melissa. The author of this article, Melissa Kelly, has been in the Secondary Education field for over 15 years, and currently holds an M.Ed. in Instruction. She creates a list of things a person should consider before pursuing a career in the field such as compensation and emotional commitment. Although this is a biased article containing little fact, it shows a professional perspective from an experienced teacher. Leblanc, Richard. The reason this website is reliable is because it is written through the Wisconsin Education Association Council. The site lays out several questions aspiring teachers should asked themselves before actually pursuing the career. It is very helpful to those who still arent sure enough to make a decision.
