Mission Update In his last report to the Mission Committee, Nico Kattenberg
informed us that Pastor Xicara has created a daily prayer calendar for himself and for the church in Cubulco. Using that, they are encouraged to co-ordinate their prayers for a specific person or need. The Aldea churches are also starting to use the calendar. While this is not some new concept it is something we can all benefit from, and we ask you to keep the work of missions in Guatemala constantly in your prayers. The FRMI Mission Updates this year will have a particular topic each month for us to think about and pray about. This month please pray for the directors of the Mission Committee. Our task can be difficult at times. We are directing the work from a distance and we try to understand the local mindset of the people in Cubulco so that we can communicate effectively. Did you know that what seems perfectly logical to us can at times be completely misunderstood by them? Sometimes we learn that the hard way. Please pray that the Lord will give us much wisdom and insight. Pray that the Lord will use our efforts to build His Church in Guatemala. We do have His promise that the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.
