Situational Analysis You are part of the MT Product Development teamat FLIP, a start-up that is two years old.

. Your company makes e-learning courses in Banking and Financial Services (BFS). There are various tasks in producing a course. Understanding the audience & the content; adding value to the content; figuring out the design strategy producing it while maintaining quality standards; creative assessments; and deployment on the platform.

Scenario 1: View the demo on the FLIP website. Thereafter, suggest three key improvements which you would make. Keep in mind the feasibility of the changes you are suggesting. Answer: I should suggest that following three alterations to improve our company website quality. i)Production of new software  Tax calculation  Audit of Accounts in Computerised Environment  IFRS ii)Mobile software, Application iii)Doubt clarification. In this first two are the product development and third one is for customer service.

Scenario 2: Your team has been given the responsibility of creating an e-learning course on credit cards in ten days. You are on schedule for the first three days. On the fourth day, your favourite cousin comes to Mysore and asks you to show him around. What would you do? Answer: I should do my work first. I have continues work for 10 days. I cant go for further effort. So my cousin will understand the situations and I will arrange some other person to take him to show around Mysore. Scenario 3: In your team of MT-PDs, there is some friction. One person feels that she is taking on too much work of another person, who is chronically ill & comes late or takes leave. She is resentful that others arent offering to take on the extra load. What do you think needs to be done? Answer: It seems that situation there is no Co-ordination in that team. So I will conduct General meeting to solve the problem of employee. I will introduce new plan to bring out more interest in the work. And also I am motivate them by providing rewards and benefits. In any Situation, as a Team Leader I cant discourage my Team Member.

Scenario 4: FLIP certifications are being conducted across 68 centres across India. The manager in charge of the certifications has fallen sick and you have been asked to handle this process for the next week. You get multiple complaints from candidates across 5 different centres across India. The complaints are related to technology from computers hanging regularly to answers not being saved properly. What would you do? Answer: The base of the problem is in Technical part. So we should send our Technical team. But the situation is like this The problem should be rectified immediately, and the location of centre is remote, at that time check the system with the help local Technician. Because there is no problem in software. Computer hanging is hardware problem. Since our user compliant will affect our business we have to concentrate of usages. After this , I communicate with my higher officials to arrange for periodically Hardware service. Scenario 5: Give a quick summary of FLIPs business. After you complete a year, which business area do you think you would like to take up? Why? Below are FLIPs business areas are: 1. Product Development: Developing E-learning courses 2. Usage Management: The system used to manage the usage of e-learning, sales, careers etc. 3. B2B (Business-to-Business): Transactions/communications between manufactures and Wholesalers/Retailers. 4. B2C (Business-to-Consumer): Sales of finished product to end customer. 5. Certifications: Process oriented thing for managing business. 6. Customer feedback, CRM, support management: Dealing with customers I would prefer the area of product development .I have the good knowledge in finance. So I can do the base of our product very simply and creativity.

Scenario 6: You are mentoring the new Customer Interaction Executive who has just joined. The regular induction schedule which includes her reading through FAQs, Counselling presentations, Site demos, plus going through the Finance & Banking Fundamentals courses, and five call simulations, takes 7 working days. But there is a lot of pressure, and the sooner she starts handling calls, the better preferably 4-5 days. Today is Monday. What would you do in this scenario? Answer: The person who is appointed as the new customer Interaction Executive, is start to handle calls. Since she has positive thought, we shouldnt discourage her. For two or three days, we should arrange a shadow. If any doubt in the communication, he/she clarify that. Today world most of the orders, communications are done by electronically. This is the fast growing sector.
