Definition:

STRUTO is a Nonwoven structure where all the fibers are orientated in the vertical position; this gives the highest possible resilience and recovery after repeated compression.

Properties:
STRUTO is a technically engineered structure with the following properties; Lightweight Consistent Recyclable Support Resilient Recovery Absorption

Background:
The original STRUTO Vertically Lapped Nonwoven product is the worlds first product of its kind. This technology was originally developed by the professors and students at the University of Czech Republic. In the late 1980s the STRUTO process was patented and marketed throughout the world.

Area of Application:
There are now many STRUTO Vertical Lapped Nonwoven production lines that manufacture products for a wide range of industries: AUTOMOTIVE AVIATION FILTRATION FURNITURE BEDDING INSOLATION

BUILDING MATERIALS

Manufacturing Process:
In any Nonwoven process the fibers must be opened prior to blending. Once properly blended the fibers are carded. The carded web is conveyed up an incline apron and is fed into the STRUTO Lapping device. The Vertical Lapper then folds the web into a uniform structure. The folds are compressed together into a continuous STRUTO structure, the structure is held in a Vertical position as it enters the heated Thermal Bonding Oven. Once the structure has been Thermally Bonded, it enters the cooling zone causing the Thermally Bonded structure to become permanent. A typical STRUTO process line will begin with fiber Blending, Opening, Pre Carding, Cross Lapping, Finish Carding, STRUTO Vertical Lapper, Thermal Bond Oven, Cooling Zone, Slitting, Cutting, Winding, Reclaim System and Electrical Controls.

The STRUTO Vertical Lapping process can use most fibers that are properly blended with a Bi Component fiber. Once blended and carded the Vertical Lapping process creates

a very even finish product. The STRUTO Vertical Lapper can be retro fitted after most nonwoven blending and carding systems. STRUTO Vertical Lapped Nonwoven structures are very successful in a number of fields such as OEM Automotive component manufacturing. STRUTO is commonly used in this field as a replacement for bulky heavyweight cross laid and air laid insulation materials, headliner, floor and trunk systems. Horizontal fiber orientation is shown below.

The most effective way to achieve the maximum amount of resilience, compression resistance and recovery is with a Vertical fiber orientation. STRUTO is truly a Vertically Lapped fiber orientation as opposed to a horizontally laid fiber orientation. The purpose of the STRUTO system is to make the most resilient structure possible with the least amount of fiber when compared to other structures.

STRUTO Parameters:
The minimum height of a STRUTO product is approximate 15 mm depending on the

fiber type and density of the finished product.

The maximum height of a STRUTO product is approximately 40 mm depending on

the fiber type and density of the finished product.

STUTO products can be slit horizontally depending on product density and the

amount of binder fiber in use. This does not include very lightweight, lofty or soft structures.
The minimum density which can be achieved with a STRUTO structure is

approximately 120/150 grams per square meter or 3 ounce per square yard.
The maximum density which n be achieved with a STRUTO structure is

approximately 1600 grams square meter or 45 ounce per square yard at the 25 mm or 1 inch thickness. All parameters are based upon the use of standard 6 to 15 denier, 52 to 64 mm, mechanically crimped, virgin polyester fibers. STRUTO structure are commonly produced with the use of all types of fibers such as Kevlar, Nomex, Glass, Carbon Fibers as well as all types of natural fibers such as Jute, Cotton, Flax and Kenaf.

Technical data:
The unique vertical orientation of the fibers provides a large amount of capacity for the STRUTO product to absorb noise, liquid, heat and other physical materials. Once the STRUTO Vertical Lapped structure is bonded and molded into the final shape, it has the ability to maintain loft much more so than a traditional cross lapped or air laid product. Working width: 2.5 meters Thickness: 15 mm to 40 mm Web weight: 200 grams per square meter Web inlet speed: 10 to 100 meters per minute Density: 80 grams to 1,600 grams per square meter Production rate: 700 kilos per hour maximum

STRUTO can provide the complete turn key Vertical Lapped Nonwoven process line. This includes the proper blending, opening, carding and finish equipment required to manufacture a quality product. In addition, STRUTO can provide any slitting, cut off, winding and recycle equipment that may be needed.

The STRUTO Vertical Lapping system can be added to an existing carded Nonwoven production line. With the proper fiber blending, opening and carding equipment, the STRUTO Vertical Lapper, bonding oven and cooling section can be added to complete the Vertical Lapped Nonwoven system.

Thermowool:
THERMOWOOL is a building insulating material from the wool. Wool is natural renewable source of the fiber material with many positive properties which is able to effectively use for construction isolation to insulate the roofs, interior walls of buildings or floors in interiors.

Property:
The unique property of this material is not only permeability but the ability to capture and release humidity from the surrounding atmosphere by preserving the thermal isolation properties. This property creates natural equalization effect to stabilize the temperature changes which discovers with relative humidity. While in winter

the absorption of humidity results the heat release, in summer the evaporation leads to cooling effect. Thanks to bind of wool fibres and vertical laid fibres technology it is achieved much better function properties of the fleeces compared by the traditional fleeces. The properties are bulkiness of the material, resistance to pressure and good recovery after stress which are desired for heat-isolation effectivity and lifetime of the material. Isolation layers from the wool are ecological, recyclable and wholesome. Mounting is easy, fast and safe - it does not require any protective equipment (protective clothing, respirator etc.)

Technical data:

Max width till 230 cm.

Thickness of product 40 - 45 mm. Formed by vertical fibres with bearing fabric.

Supplied on rolls or in the required blanks.

Stronger layers are achieved by bonding two and more layers. Impregnated mothproof and flammability reducing treatment.

connection is ensured by the thermal process by bi-component PES fibres Made from polyester hollow fibres in combination with smaller amount of PES fibres (to 20%).

Main advantages:

Natural, renewable and sustainable resource.

Safe to use, no protective equipment needed. hygroscopic - able to absorb up to 17% of the own weight.

Ability to absorb and release humidity with no limitation of thermal properties,

low flammability, no leak of toxic gases, the wool is flame retardant thanks to high limit oxidant number (LOI=25,2) - it is necessary to add 25,2% oxygen content to burn the wool but the air contains only 21% .

Wholesome - the wool doesnt contain formaldehyde or other harmful substances

compared to other materials, it has the exceptional ability to absorb these substances and lock them into its structure.
The material is biodegradable and recyclable and it's eco-saving product.

Energy saving - requires only fraction of the energy it needs to produce, prevents the leak of heat from the room.

Application Areas:
eco construction: woodhouse and log cabins- here meets the use of natural material with energetic efficiency. the existing buildings: replacement of existing insulation - which has often a low immunity to humidity and molds what means limited lifetime. effective for layer structures: ideal wool insulation - where is necessary the permeability and insulation with moisture barrier by buildings and the exterior insulation. soundproofing inner walls of the rooms.
