APV Valve Product Change


As a part of Ariel continuous product improvement, APV concentric ring valves shipped after 9/5/11 contain changes to internal components: 1. The armor plate upgrades to a separation plate with anti-rotation tabs (see Figure 1). 2. The synchronization plate material changes from MTX to PC, a black, carbon-filled PEEK. The synchronization plate is also modified slightly to accommodate the anti-rotation tabs on the new separation plate. Figure 2 shows the new components in the valve assembly. This replacement affects all APV valve sizes. The new parts are direct replacements for the original components. The new parts will install into existing valves to provide the upgrade improvements. Valve part numbers and valve rebuild kit part numbers will not change. Orders for new valves and valve rebuild kits will automatically ship with the new components. Contact Ariel Technical Services to report any recurring issues with APV valve life. Ariel will supply the parts to retrofit APV valves to the new configuration. Contact Ariel Spare Parts to arrange for exchange of existing new and unused armor plates, synchronization plates and valve kits held in inventory.
