Professional Experience Current Posts. General Practitioner based at Kilbeggan Health Centre, Kilbeggan, County Westmeath, Feb 2009 Present.
The practice is a busy Computerised teaching, computerised located outside of Dublin with a patient population of approximately ten thousand. There are five doctors working at the practice and one doctor in training .The practice participates in the training of undergraduate students from three medical schools and postgraduate doctors participating in family practice training program.My Special interests are Minor surgery ,teaching, emergency medicine.

Emergency medicineI work as Registrar having slots at the Mater Hospital Dublin. The hospital has 600 beds and is a major terterary / teaching Hospital for university college Dublin ,and was founded in 1861 . There are approximately 50k emergency attendances at the Hospital per year. My Duties involved working with the Consultant-Head of the Department assisting training and supervision of junior Doctors-Students-and day to day running of the Emergency Department.

General Practice, Partner Post April 2002 - December 2008. Stert Street, Abingdon, Oxon, UK Full time G.P. partner, with my own list of approximately 2700 patients. Stert Street practice is fully computerised and affiliated to Oxford University and the National Health Service = N.H.S. The practice consistently scored in top percentage of practices in the U.K. Government Q.U.O.F., scoring scheme. I was one of the undergraduate medical school tutors. My senior partner was the postgraduate trainer. My Special interests are Minor Surgery, Teaching, Emergency Medicine /Air Ambulance. Air Ambulance Air medical Evacuation. Since 1999 .

I have worked as an independent Flight Doctor; working with some of the U.K. based air ambulances, insurance companies, and medical assistance companies. I have travelled extensively world wide on a variety of fixed wing aircraft. Emergency Medicine U.K. Locum 1999 - 2008. I have worked as a locum registrar in Oxford, the South East of England, and London regions since moving to the U.K. The John Radcliffe Hospital the main teaching Hospital for Oxford University. Carnival Cruise lines is the worlds largest cruise line based in Miami, Florida. Each ship in the fleet has 3-5 nurses and 1-2 Doctors catering for the 3-5,000 Passengers and Crew. My Medical Role Involved; Running the Medical Department and being one of the ships senior officers, reporting to the captain. After completing my G.P. training at Oxford I gained experience as a locum G.P. as well as doing locum work in emergency medicine, prior to moving to the U.S.A. The post at Sligo was a wonderful opportunity for me to experience a broad range of internal medicine eg ,Nephrology,Cardiology,Respiratory ,Geriatric and Endocrinology etc. I also did my first air medical evacuations by Helicopter from this Hospital to the Neurosurgical units in Dublin.

Beaumont Hospital Is the main Teaching and terterary referral Hospital for the Royal College of Surgeons medical school.My internship involved rotations in cardiology, endocrinology and general internal medicine.
