INTRODUCTION
Competency mapping is a framework of knowledge, skills and characteristics needed to effectively perform a role in an organization. This helps organization immensely in bringing clarity in all HR processes. All critical HR processes like recruitment, performance management, training & development, and succession planning can be linked together and aligned to specific organization goals, based on clearly articulated competencies. Competency framework allows us to create customized models that highlight competencies of the organization to help people in achieving success. Together with target setting, this will provide an organization with the impetus it needs to have a significant and measurable impact in gaining and maintaining a competitive advantage.

OBJECTIVES
This one day program is based on the facilitators several years of experience and research in competency mapping. It includes sharing of concepts and experiences, demo-presentations, activities for strengthening the concepts and discussions by participants to demonstrate the learning and achieve following objectives: To clearly understand the meaning of Competency and how Competencies form the basis for job performance and lead towards integrating various organisational systems To understand the various kinds of Competencies and their relevance to Organisational context To understand how to develop a Framework for the organisation that is Competency driven To understand how to develop Competencies for various roles and levels of roles in an organisation and to link them with KRAs and KPIs To map various competencies across the organizational structure and link them to performance appraisals To develop Competency Based HR systems by creating the right kind of Competency Rating Scales

Mr R S Kiran
Chief Trainer at SKs, an MBA from Andhra University, and M Sc. Psychology from Madras University, has over fifteen years of experience in academics and in corporate sector. He has been training corporates on behavioural issues since the last nine years. Prior to starting SKs he worked as the head of management colleges in Goa and Andhra Pradesh. He is currently the Managing Director and the Chief Trainer at SKs. He has published articles on Emotional Intelligence and Human Behaviour. He is a member of NHRD network and Goa Management Association. Apart from bringing pragmatism into the academics, he is also committed to developing contemporary management processes by training and educating the work force in various national and international organisations
