We want everyone to have a warm, well insulated home, wherever they live. Thats why I am encouraging everyone to take advantage of the help and advice from the Energy Saving Trust Gordon Brown UK Prime Minister
Our mission and vision Our mission is to lead 60 million people to act on climate change. Our vision for the future is for every home to be low carbon and for everyone to lead a low carbon lifestyle because they: Save energy. Buy the most energy-efficient products. Equip their homes with energy-saving products. Choose sustainable travel choices. Want renewable energy, including microgeneration. Conserve water. Reduce and recycle waste.
Who can we help? Consumers Practical advice and support delivered through our website and local advice centres helps people to save energy, travel sustainably, generate renewable energy, conserve water and reduce or recycle waste. Commercial partners We work in collaboration with commercial organisations that show a genuine commitment to reducing the UKs carbon emissions in the domestic sector by helping them engage their customers and employees to adopt low-carbon lifestyles. Manufacturers and retailers Our Energy Saving Recommended certification scheme includes helping manufacturers and retailers to promote energy-efficient lighting, electronic and insulation products. Housing and building professionals We provide technical guidance and solutions on energy efficiency and renewables to help UK housing professionals design, build and refurbish to high standards. Local authorities Our advice, support and services are specifically designed to help local authorities meet their obligations under the new carbon dioxide emissions performance indicators. We also provide advice and support to housing associations and private landlords on renewables technologies and on making homes more energy efficient. Communities We provide communities across the UK with help and support to carry out local energy saving projects. Our network of local advice centres help to support this work by providing direct support to communities to make things happen on the ground. Businesses with car or van fleets We help businesses to reduce the carbon emissions and running costs associated with their fleet operations and help them to promote smarter / eco driving techniques to their employees.
If you are an individual or part of a community we can provide tailored advice and support on the action you can take that is best suited to your circumstances and needs.
Why work with us? Network of local advice centres across the UK We are the only organisation in the UK able to offer individuals advice and support on environmental issues based on their personal and local circumstances. This means that no matter where you are based in the UK we will be able to provide a service to you, your customers, employees or constituents to help you achieve the highest level of carbon dioxide emission reduction possible. Independence Consumers are increasingly demanding that businesses and organisations prove the green credentials they are claiming. Our independent status means you can have peace of mind that the statistics and facts we provide you about saving energy, generating renewable energy, sustainable transport, water conservation and waste reduction are credible and trustworthy. Experience Over fifteen years of experience in delivering and evaluating the success of carbon reduction programmes means we are able to offer you the professional support, guidance and service necessary to help you run your own successful carbon reduction programme and activities. Reach We work across the UK and reach over two million consumers with our advice. And through the European Energy Network we have built strong working relationships with our counterparts across the EU and beyond.
How the Energy Saving Trust can help We can provide your business with expert help on lowering the financial and environmental cost of your fleet. We can also provide you with advice and support on how to encourage your employees to adopt sustainable and cost saving behaviours at work. We also provide manufacturers, retailers and installers with certification and distribution help for their products and tailored support for the associated marketing and public relations work. We can work with government (central, devolved, regional or local) to help develop and deliver policy, promote the need for action to the public and provide practical low carbon solutions.
The help and practical support from the Energy Saving Trust one-to one support programme has been invaluable in driving the sustainable energy and climate change agenda into my Council and embedding it in the organisation. Peter Chisnall Environmental Services Manager, Braintree District Council
The Energy Saving Trust has been a valuable partner to P&Gs energy saving initiatives such as our award winning Ariel Turn To 30 campaign. Their expertise helps us validate our energy saving claims and provides credibility to our consumers. We value their honest appraisal of our initiatives and look forward to more collaboration in the future. Win Sakdinan Procter & Gamble, External Relations
We had made significant steps to reduce our fleets carbon emissions but we realised there was a lot more to do and the Energy Saving Trust provided us with the guidance and direction we needed to move forward. Simon Graham Environmental Strategist Commercial Group
