Information Common For All Software and Hardware

Only the Software and Platforms shown in the charts below are supported. Any deviations will not be supported. Additional requirements may apply in clustered server environments. Refer to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.1.x Minimum Technical Requirements Clustered Enterprise Server document for details. Contact your specific hardware representative for optimal system configurations. Sizing Information is provided by the hardware representatives. It is critical to check with your hardware vendor for sizing requirements when performing upgrades or updates.

Operating System Patches

Printer Support
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.1 supports the following printer output languages. Post Script Language Level 3, PCL 5 or Line Printer. However, PCL 5 is not supported for Chinese, Japanese or Korean languages.

General Information:
When the Operating System is installed select the Software Development and Web Server profiles, along with the following optional packages: Development - Java Development (all) Development - Legacy Software Development (all) Servers - Server Configuration Tools (all) Base System - Legacy Software Support (all) Base System - System Tools (all) Some installation scripts require a Korn shell interpreter. Installation of the pdksh package is required. In order to use the compress option on the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne package build, you must install the ncompress rpm package (ncompress-4.2.4-47.x86_64.rpm or higher). This package is normally not installed during the operating system installation process. Update 5 is the minimum patch level supported. Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel is supported with JD Edwards Enterprise One Tools 9.1.0. Only the 64-bit Edition of Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 is supported. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Enterprise Server continues to run as a native 32-bit application on the 64-bit version of the Linux Operating System. IBM products (WebSphere, DB2, IBM Directory Server, WebSphere MQ) are not supported with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on Oracle Enterprise Linux. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Server Manager must be updated to a minimum of 9.1.0 before installing the Enterprise Server, or any other EnterpriseOne component on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5. With JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.1.0, additional flags have been added to the CompilerFlags and LinkFlags settings in the server JDE.INI. Confirm that the [BSFN BUILD] section contains the following settings before running a Package Build on the server: CompilerFlags now requires the -m32 flag to be added to the existing setting. LinkFlags now requires the -melf_i386 flag to be added to the existing setting.

IBM XL C for AIX IBM C for AIX is the C language subset of the Visual Age C/C++ product and can be purchased and installed separately. Installation of the Visual Age C/C++ Compiler also complies with this MTR, because it includes the IBM C for AIX product. Version 11.0 When using Visual Age C/C++ Version 11, Version 11.1.0.3 is required.

Microsoft Windows ANSI C Compiler

ANSI C Compiler
Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and Visual Studio 2010 SP1 are supported compilers.

RTL = Runtime Libraries

With 9.1 Visual Studio 2010 Runtime Libraries are required on the Enterprise Server even if the compiler Visual Studio 2008 SP1 is being used. Visual Studio Express Edition is not supported. The MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Compiler Redistributable Package (vcredist_x86.exe) installs the required RTL 9.0 DLLs. The (vcredist_x86.exe) package must be run when a MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 compiler is not installed on the Windows machine. These RTL 9.0 DLLs are otherwise automatically installed with the MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 compiler. The MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Compiler Redistributable Package (vcredist_x86.exe) installs the required RTL 10.0 DLLs. The (vcredist_x86.exe) package must be run when a MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 compiler is not installed on the Windows machine. These RTL 10.0 DLLs are otherwise automatically installed with the MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 compiler.
