Dance Contest A line dance contest is scheduled for 9 p.m., Jan. 14 at Mitchells Club on Camp Red Cloud. The dancing will be to Country music and a first-place prize will be awarded. Bowling Special A Martin Luther King Jr. $1 bowling special at the Camp Stanley Bowling Center is scheduled for Jan 14 - 16 from 5 - 9:30 p.m. For more information call 732-5800. Troops to Teacher A set of meetings on the Troops to Teacher program are scheduled for Jan. 17 and 26, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the Casey Elementary School. For more information, call 7306444. DOL Hours The U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud Directorate of Logistics Maintenance Division will limit its operations Jan. 18 because of a Department of the Army inspection. Please plan accordingly. Lunar New Year An off-post Lunar New Year event open to U.S. Soldiers, civilians and family members is scheduled for Jan. 20 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Dongducheon Nonghyup Wedding Hall on the second floor. Because of limited seating, those wanting to attend must sign up at the Camp Casey Community Activity Center no later than Jan. 16. A free bus will leave the Community Activity Center at 11 a.m. For more information, call 7304601/4602. At Camp Casey, a Lunar New Year celebration is scheduled at the Community Activity Center Jan. 21 from 2 - 6 p.m. rice cake, traditional tea and homemade beverages will be served, and a traditional Korean drum dance will be performed. Hanboks can be rented for $10 but the availability of hanbok by size should be checked beforehand. Reservations are recommended, especially for those with children aged 2 to 10. Dongguk Hospital Tour The Camp Casey U.S. Army Health Clinic and Army Community Service are offering a tour of Dongguk University International Hospital in Ilsan Jan. 20. The bus departs the Camp Casey Army Health Clinic at 1 p.m. for the one-hour tour and will arrive back on Camp Casey at 5 p.m. For more information and to sign up, call 730-4332 or 730-3107. Korean Language Speech Contest A Korean language speech contest at Camp Red Cloud is scheduled for 3 p.m., Jan. 21 at Mitchells Club. Participants will prepare a three-minute speech in Korean and be judged on their ability to deliver it clearly and correctly. Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place. Its open to non-Korean U.S. military ID card holders. All speeches must be in keeping with Army values. For more information, call 732-8189. Dental Training The deadline to apply for a free five-month Dental Assistant Training Program is Jan. 24 and applications are available at the Camp Casey Red Cross office, bldg. 2451, until Jan. 20. The program is open to all military ID card holders 18 and older. Those who successfully complete the training are certified to work in a dental clinic. For more information, call 730-3184. Drivers Testing Consolidation The Drivers Testing Office at Camp Red Cloud has closed temporarily because of a staffing shortage. All driver testing will be handled at bldg. 2101 at Camp Casey. Current Post Status The U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud has created a mobile web application for community members to get an immediate snapshot of the current conditions for road, gates, schools (Casey Elementary School and Yongsan High School) and snow in Area I. It can be found at http://redcloud.korea.army. mil/mobile. The conditions are simultaneously published on the USAG Red Cloud Facebook and Twitter pages. For more information, call 732-6034. Resiliency Training The 2nd Infantry Division Warrior Spouse Resiliency Program will hold free Spouse Resiliency Training sessions in Area I geared to helping military spouses meet the adversity and challenges of everyday life. At Camp Casey, training is scheduled for Jan. 24 - 27 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Family Readiness Center, bldg. 2403. At Camp Red Cloud, training is scheduled for Feb. 21 - 24 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Education Center, bldg. 58. Those who would need free child care service during the training must register for it with Child and Youth Services two weeks before classes start. Holiday Dinner-Dance A Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday dinner and dance at Camp Casey will be held Jan. 14 at the Warriors Club.
