Chemtherm 550 is a premium heat transfer fluid that is more thermally stable than mineral oils. It is recommended for liquid-phase applications where safety and the environment are important. The maximum bulk fluid temperature is 600F. It transfers heat efficiently and does not foul heat transfer surfaces. The proprietary formulation makes Chemtherm 550 non-toxic. Consequently, spills of Chemtherm 550 have a minimum impact on the environment. For over ten years, Coastal Chemical has been developing heat transfer fluids that do not contain any aromatic compounds. In contrast to many fluids, Chemtherm 550 cannot thermally degrade into benzene-type chemicals that are a threat to personnel and the environment.
