Role Of Youth For Positive Pakistan

1. The Youth of Pakistan are also known as the Nation Builders and we can play a significant role in the development of the country not only economically but also by morally and practically. We have to clear the differences and objections of people and make our efforts to grow Pakistan and fulfill the basic needs of the people which are below the poverty line. We are always aware of the fact that Pakistan is in danger, it is basically strong in the field of weapons but between the people of Pakistan there is so much difference and contradictions that they dont even try to unite as one. To be one and keep united the people, the people of Pakistan have to eradicate the internal disputes prevailing between them and they have to show maturity as well as a sense of national responsibility. We have to wake up from a deep sleep and invoke the spirit of our founder and bring back our country to its feet. Renowned Scholar, Dr. Tariq Rehman said that Youth has a significant role in present dismal situation and we need to impart civic education to secure our better future. And also adding the comment of Shabana Fayyaz, lecturer of Quaid-e-Azam University said that The best investment under current scenarios would be empowering the youth. She added that We are surrounded by multiple crises and we cannot meet these challenges without an active participation of the youth as a catalyst of change. According to a survey, an overwhelming majority of the youth (61.8%) has faith in democracy and peaceful change, as they believe that their vote can be a catalyst for change. An amazing majority of youth (72.6%) is willing to get involved in volunteerism but only 17% are willing to do voluntary work for political parties. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah used his ability and skills and by showing extra-ordinary courage, which he manifested in the process of creation of Pakistan and the fight he fought in all quarters during his lifetime. The people of Pakistan will always remain in debt to this great man and sacrifices given by millions of martyrs. We are on a hopeless journey but still we have to try to make efforts for the betterment of the society and develop an optimistic thinking. We should not lose the right path by simply seeing what kind of absurdities and unfair means are already being followed over here, rather we should exemplify good patterns of behavior for the coming generations. We are Young Seagulls, trying to fly without feathers. Our precious gems and valuable assets, youth, in the shape of brilliant students, professionals and people in all walks of life are being discouraged, exploited and humiliated by the corrupt lobby. The problem of the emotional and impatient Pakistanis is diagnosed. The solution is in our hands. They need to change themselves and their attitude and approach must based on sensibility, responsibility, tolerance and patience. We will achieve a Positive and Green Pakistan. INSHAALLAH
Information And Communication Technology Development Opportunities And The Role Of Youth

. 1. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the convergence of microelectronics,

computing and telecommunications. It has become a global phenomenon of great importance and concern in all spheres of human endeavour, spanning across education, governance, business, market share, labour, productivity, agriculture, trade, commerce and others. It thus poses an automatic challenge to everyone, particularly the youths. For example, graduating students moving into an Information Technology dominated work place must acquire necessary skills to avoid being victims of the digital divide. 2. DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES Diverse development opportunities have opened up due to the influence of ICT and developing nations now have the opportunity of leapfrogging into the information age by employing the powers of Information and Communication Technology. Areas such as Software development and Satellite Communications can provide opportunities for youths of developing nations. Nigeria, for example, has reacted to the global challenge by indicating its interest in the mass production of ICT experts in the tune of almost a million young people. Job creation is also an opportunity provided by ICT. Presently, the whole global village is experiencing a shortage of ICT skills and tackling the challenge would obviously promote development. The United Kingdoms interest in being the best place to do eCommerce by 2002 is fast changing the face of their education, industrial applications and research opportunities. Wealth creation and economic growth opportunities are also offshoots of the impact of ICT on developing nations, among... INFLUENCE OF WESTERN CULTURE On Pakistan youth The culture of Pakistan is a mixed culture. Pakistan is a country enriched in different traditions. This is because the region had been previously invaded by many different people belonging to different cultures including the British, Turks, Mongols, Arabs, Persian s etc. however the culture of Pakistan has its roots embedded in a way of life as prescribed by Islam. Pakistan was formed on the name of Islam and to ensure that Muslims can have a peaceful environment where they can practice their religion without any hindrance. Today, the influence of western culture is felt in almost all parts of the world. Pakistan is also facing this change. The world is becoming smaller and smaller and it is an era of increasing globalization. The western culture attracts the youth of Pakistan with its craze with its liberal lifestyle and carefree attitude, and the non serious mentality in the walks of life due to which many people tend to forget the culture they believe in. This influence is now commonly felt in Pakistan especially among the youth and even more among the affluent. Food is undoubtedly the basic part which has been taken over by western products and food chains which are available and have been opened in the major cities. People now find it a status sign to have their meals in these food chains. Media plays a vital role; the youth of Pakistan is indulged in western media. The people have abandoned their own media which highlights their glorious culture and is based upon their own lifestyle whereas the western media has nothing to do with the social background of Pakistanis. The hypnotizing characters draw the attention of adults and children alike to indulge into hours of worthless entertainment. Their media including the music industry doesnt keep a balance between adult and family programmes which...

The current situation in Pakistan is one that is not dependent on words for a description, because the impact of violence, terrorism and extremism is felt by all citizens in everyday life. For the first time in Pakistans history, schools have been targeted, resulting in the closing of educational institutions throughout the country. The current situation thus cannot be understated because its impact is more than that of an all out war, since in a conventional war there are some minimum rules which require the warring parties not to target civilians or civilian infrastructure. It is unfortunate that there is a severe lack of an in-depth analysis of how we have reached this situation, as only then can we devise a strategy of how to get out of it. What is making matters worse is the fact that our leadership is not taking the nation into confidence to calm them and provide them hope and vision towards a better future. Instead there is only debate where illinformed participants share their opinions, jump to quick conclusions without proper information and end up blaming others for the current troubles. We have made little progress in being able to educate ourselves on the current situation in discussing the various aspects that have lead us here, and most importantly, have done nothing to come up with a consensus on how to get out of this situation. With the belief that if the youth around the world can be motivated in a negative way to take part in terrorist activities, then they can also be mobilized to combat such situations, the Institute for Peace and Secular Studies is organizing a day long convention with a goal of educating ourselves of our current situation, discussing the issues and hopefully coming up with a consensus of what, we, the youth of Pakistan should do in this situation.

The role of the youth in the development of Pakistan has always been remarkable and positive for the country. The young blood of our nation has never failed to perform at the national and international level, consequently bringing glory and pride to our nation and also bringing laurels home to be proud of. When we trace the history of Pakistan to its early times, we can easily make out the efforts done by the youth. When the founder of the nation, Quaid -e -Azam presented his vision for a separate state for the Muslims, the youth joined hands with Mr. Jinnah and worked diligently to create Pakistan. They gave countless sacrifices and lives, so that we could live in peace and harmony. Today, we are living in the shadow of suicide attacks and target killings. The state is in a complete state of chaos, everyone is depressed due to the sorry state of affairs. The young blood is working tirelessly day and night to create a ray of hope to bring a solution to the problems, which are creating a bad global image of Pakistan. They are actively involved in NGOs; some of

them are doctors, chemists, economists, fine arts student, military people and are also involved in many other occupations, which constituted as a whole is bringing glory to the nation. I would like to shed some light on some of the events where the youth really created an impact. During the floods which destroyed half of Pakistan, the students and young workers raised charity and donated relief items to the people who had lost everything. It was the youth who marched alongside the lawyers for the restoration of the Chief Justice during the lawyers movement. Our under 19 team won the Cricket World Cup in Malaysia against India. Ali Moeen Nawazish scored 21 As in his A-level examinations in England. Most of the population of Pakistan comprises of the youth, it is necessary for them to keep contributing for the betterment and progress of the country like they have before. The youth is one of the biggest assets of the country and they must be fully utilized, without exposing them to any harm simultaneously. They have fought for the improvement of the society, and are still making countless efforts to create goodwill

Social Media and its Role in Mobilizing the Pakistani Youth

With a population exceeding 170 million, Pakistan stands as the sixth most populous country in the world. Two-third of the total population is under the age of 30, which makes Pakistan a comparatively young and energetic nation with lots of promise and potential. Pakistan in recent years has seen an unprecedented rise in the usage of mobile phones, internet and most importantly the emergence of social media platforms. Social media has been adapted as a platform for connecting with friends, sharing information and a favorite past-time by much of the youth in Pakistan as it is by rest of the world. Facebook is used by over 50 Lakh people in Pakistan, of which half of them fall between the ages of 18 to 24. This clearly portrays that social media is a rising force in Pakistan. Social Media can be a strong motivator when it comes to mobilizing the youth. Kids have become accustomed to new media tools and its subsequent additions. People are now socializing online because online conversations are more interactive. The example of the Egyptian revolution is a reminder that the impact of social media, both in a positive as well as negative sense, cannot be ignored. On a national level, the floods of 2010 brought with them a great challenge for the people of Pakistan. The youth of Pakistan, sensing the challenge, utilized the social media platform they had at their disposal and played an integral role in providing minute by minute updates, relief efforts, and rehabilitation of the affected people in the flood stricken areas. The Pakistan Youth Alliance (PYA) was at the forefront of such efforts, and is still working to reconstruct the areas to this present day. Social Media has helped the PYA and other like-minded groups to share their experiences, gain credibility and even appreciation from others.

Pakistani youth are now always connected and linked with each other. A decade ago, young people would stay in touch with their friends by hanging out with them at school or meeting up in markets. Now, the youth are always connected and linked with each other. Platforms like Facebook and Twitter allows anyone to express themselves and their opinions without revealing their true identity. Social Media has removed our dependence on state controlled flow of information. Social media presents the opportunity to the youth to comment on even those topics which have long been considered taboo. Various blogs and discussion forums regularly post updates regarding crucial topics relating to government policies, socio-economic problems, and military operations in Pakistan. Although nobody is denying the positive influence of social media on the youth and everyone else alike, there is still a long way to go before one can truly say that social media has reached its full potential. Our youth still has been unable to take advantage of social media on critical situations like political protests, corruption issues, and injustice in the society. Imran Khan can claim to have millions of Fans on his Facebook fan page, but the question needs to be asked whether all of them will actually leave the comfort of their homes and participate whenever physical presence is required?

The youth represent the economic future. If the youth are uneducated and poor the economy will become a deprived unproductive economy with high crime. If the youth are educated and are given opportunities the economy has the potential for growth, improved productivity and international competitiveness.

Sure the youth are consumers too, but the economic future is the biggest role of young people in economic development. Pakistani Youth Wants Islamic Revolution: Wall Street Journal

Popular American Newspaper Wall Street Journal has said in a report that Pakistani Youth wants an Islamic Revolution and not Democracy. The reports says more than 60% Population of Pakistan is based on Youth having ages less than 25 years and unlike Egypt Pakistani Youth Wants an Islamic Revolution not Democracy.

WSJ has also said that Pakistani Youth is really upset with present Situation of their Country and it can come on roads anytime to bring a complete change. In the report American Government is advises to support Civilian Government in Pakistan.

Role Models for Muslim Youth

in the early days of Islam, when Prophet Muhammad (saws) called his people to embrace Islam, they did not accept it easily. The tribe of Quraysh, to which the Prophet belonged, was reluctant to leave the religion of its forefathers, and the unbelievers spared no effort in trying to eliminate the religion from existence. They resorted to every conceivable means and method of torture and persecution. They ridiculed the new converts and subjected them to all kinds of hardships in order to force them to renounce their faith. But the ill-treatment only made them more determined and firm. Among the early converts who suffered most were the Yassir family, Bilal and Khubab. The latter was in fact publicly executed to deter others from embracing Islam; but nothing could turn the Muslims away from their faith. This situation continued for thirteen years in Makkah, while the Muslims were still weak. Then Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'laa) instructed His Prophet to migrate from Makkah to Madinah, then known as Yathrib. This migration marked a turning point in Islamic history as the Muslims found support in Madinah. Within a few years, their situation changed from weakness to strength.

However, the Hijrah itself was overshadowed by all kinds of dangers. The Quraysh conspired to kill the Prophet before he left Makkah, and they contrived a master plan to assassinate him. They agreed that each clan should select a warrior to represent it, whereby the warriors would jointly stab the Prophet. The idea behind this plan was to escape the onus of blood compensation and tribal feuds. In this manner, all the clans would share the compensation, and at the same time, the Prophet's clan could not engage in war against the allied tribes. But Allah (swt) protected His Prophet from their conspiracy. As the group selected to carry out the plot gathered outside the Prophet's home, he asked his cousin, Ali ibn Abi Talib, to sleep in his bed. Then the Prophet left silently under the cover of darkness, as he recited these verses of the Qur'an: "And We have put in front of them a barrier, and We have covered them so that they cannot see." [Qur'an 36:9] The Prophet went to his close companion, Abu Bakr, and they left Makkah secretly, accompanied by Abu Bakr's servant, Amir ibn Fuhayrah, and a guide who had good knowledge of the way. The group left in a direction other than the one usually taken to Madinah so as to escape the pursuit of their adversaries. The Prophet and Abu Bakr hid in the cave of Thawr, near Makkah, to wait for the frantic search of the unbelievers to subside. In fact, The Quarysh placed a reward of a hundred camels for whoever would capture the Prophet before he reached Madinah. It is worth noting here the role played by Muslim youth in this crucial journey, which required much planning, secrecy and courage. Four young people who stood up to this task were Ali ibn Abi Talib, Amir ibn Fuhayrah, Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr and Asma' bint Abi Bakr. The role of Ali on the night of the Prophet's escape from assassination has already been mentioned. Abdullah sneaked out each night to inform his father and the Prophet of what was transpiring in Makkah among the unbelievers, and of the relentless search they were undertaking. Amir, on the other hand, drove his sheep to graze over and wipe out any footprints leading to the cave where the Prophet and Abu Bakr were hiding. Asma' took food and water to them. She stood firm in the face of close scrutiny by the leaders of Quraysh, such that one of them even hit her hard to extract from her information of the whereabouts of the Prophet and Abu Bakr. One day, Asma' could not carry the food and water with her bare hands, so she tore her waist band into two sashes and used them to tie and carry the provisions on her shoulders. When she reached the cave and the Prophet saw what she had done, he said to her, "Surely, Allah has exchanged your two sashes with two sashes in Paradise." Indeed, the story of the circumstances surrounding the Prophet's migration serves as an inspiration for Muslim youth in all generations. These young individuals realised the significance of the Message of the Prophet and importance of his personal safety for the survival of Islam. They therefore made the decision to contribute to the success of the Islamic message with all the means at their disposal. The sacrifice each one of them made reveals the love and loyalty that they had for the Prophet. They also serve as role models for all Muslims youth to emulate. Youth is the most vigorous and dynamic stage in an individual's life.

Therefore, Muslim youth of today should realize their role in Muslim society, and they should contribute selflessly to the advancement of the Muslim Ummah. In a hadith, the Prophet said that among the things for which every person will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is his/her youth and how he/she spent it. The Muslim youth should therefore rise to the occasion and shoulder their responsibilities to their communities. They must also have the courage and foresight to help shape the future of the Muslim Ummah.
