I am going to setup a client/server structured network in my home. The network will have one server(PC) and four user PC. Now I will answer the questions regarding the assignment. Answer to the question no 1 My network topology will be star topology. As I going to set up a home network and I should have control over the nodes and access of data it is the best way to decorate the structure. If any user PC stop working it will nt affect ythe whole network. This is why I have chosen this topology. Answer to the question no 2 CAT 5 cabling is available, affordable and popular. So, I am going to use CAT 5 cabling. In addition RJ45 connectors will be used for connecting with the LAN. Answer to the question no 3

Answer to the question no 6 I am going to purchase a broadband connection from my ISP.

Answer to the question no 7 The bandwidth given by the ISP is 1 MBPS.(Usage Limit 25 GB)

Answer to the question no 8 The cost of service is 1850BDT/Month.(Excluding VAT)

Answer to the question no 9 I am going to use Windows NT for Server PC.

Answer to the question no 10 My clients operating system will be Windows XP.

Answer to the question no 11 No. The printer will be connected with the server only by USB cable/connector. As it is a home network there is no need to ensure print availability for each user. Rather we need to ensure proper and efficient use of the printer. Answer to the question no 12 The applications installed are Microsoft Office Suite and Norton Internet Security (5user).
