Statement of the Problem: 1.

Market study for Nilgiris food product specific references to Diary product - milk, curd, butter, ghee, paneer, cheese, and khova cream. Bakery product- bread, bun, biscuit, puff, cookies, cake, pizza base, chocolate, pastries, etc 2. Nilgiris want to be a marker leader and suggestion to improve the brand image and Nilgiris Products. Hence would like to improve on the product offer and tailored to customer need.

(c) Need and Importance of the study:

Need: -

Customers play a very important role in the success and failure of company. Company that has higher consumer satisfaction, such company will reach it goal without much risk. So, company should study consumer wants, preferences and buying behaviors. Such study will provide base for developing new products and for making changes in the existing products, price and other marketing new elements.

Study on consumer perception Nilgiris Products, hereby understanding the growth rate of Nilgiris share. Basically, Nilgiris Company wants to be market leader and improve brand image and its product.

The basic need for Nilgiris to conduct this kind of research is to come up with new promotional strategy, which will be helpful in increasing their market share.

Importance: -

The study which has done for consumer and non-consumer of Nilgiris product and the answer given by them to question, which will be helpful for the Nilgiris company changing their strategy. The result of this study gives consumer preference towards Nilgiris product. What the customer expects from the company, which is the area on which Nilgiris Company has to give more attention, and also which are the factors that are going to keep the customer satisfy. The study also shows competitor promotional strategy, changing customer needs and image awareness. Nilgiris Company can use this result in preparing its strategies by keeping in the mind the consumer perception

To estimate total market and growth rate of bakery product and Nilgiris share. To understand the consumer changing needs and identify new opportunities. To study present competitive scenario and the leading brands. To study competitor promotional strategies and reason for better brand image. To provide an offer and specific suggestion for creating brand image for Nilgiris products.

Review of literature (a) Purpose: Purpose of studying various literatures on the subject is to gain in depth knowledge of the concepts and techniques so as to successfully relate and use it in this research study.

According to my study the focus was on understanding the concepts in regards to the market survey, consumer survey concept, perception, consumer behaviour and Brand image.

Review of literature is carried out for finding out research gap and the link between current study and previous study.

(b) Methodology: -

Methodology of review of literature carried out with the help of following method.

 Visiting library of College of CMRIM  Review of previous research abstract.  Skimming through some report on similar topic  The various web site visited are: www. google.com www. Nilgiris 1905.com www. Yahoo.com Type of Research: As the study was conducted for Nilgiris Company, which want to be market leader and improve its brand image. It was necessary for me to go for Descriptive Research. Descriptive Research embraces a large proportion of market research. The purpose is to provide an accurate snapshot of some aspects of market environment, such as: The socio-economic demographic characteristics of the readership of a magazine. The proportion of all possible out lets that are carrying, displaying or merchandising our products.

(b) Sample Technique: A convenience sampling technique has been adapted to carry on the research. It is a probability sampling technique where in all the members of the population has an equal chance of selection.

(c) Sample Size: 100 sample sizes were selected. It was asked to all kinds of people.

(d) Sample Description: The study was conducted for general public consisting of Housewife, Employee, Business and Professional. The sample largely consists of Female. Here people of various age group are consulted in which majority of them are fall between 20 to 30 years and it was found that most of them are Employee. (e) Instrumentation technique: To carry out the research a structured closed-ended questionnaire was used. The questionnaire were circulated to the customer personally and to fill up the questionnaire.

Primary Data: The primary data were collected through a structured closed ended questionnaire. The questionnaires were circulated to the customer personally. A detail report on the given information is provided in next chapters.

Secondary data: The source of secondary data includes: Books Reports Magazine Newspaper Company brochure PLAN OF ANALYSIS: -

All the questionnaires were processed and edited as per the objective of study. The data was transcript from questionnaire to works sheets.

The raw data is tabulated with the help of table analysis are made and inferences are drawn. From the set of inferences broad conclusions are drawn for recommendations.

LIMITATIONS OF STUDY: -

The study is mainly depending on primary data. Hence, it may subject to personal bias
