HUNTING ALARM B User Manual

Hunting Alarm is the perfect solution for remote monitoring your hunting area
For monitoring of feeding places, live animal traps, hunting stands and hunting cabins (aso.) HUNTING ALARM ist based on a special Alarm Phone, equipped with an additional microcontroller and an integrated vibration & movement sensor. You will receive a notification on your mobile phone, in following situations: + when game is present at the feeding place + when an animal was caught in a trap + if someone tries to brake into your hunting cabin + if someone tries to steal or damage your hunting stand This are the features: + Alert to your mobile phone, when motion or vibration ist detected + Silent alarm in the monitored area + Long battery duration up to 3 month in alarm standby mode + Auto arming and remote arming by a phone call + 3 user adjustable modes of operation + User adjustable sensitivity of the vibration & movement sensor in 3 steps + Alerts and remote arming free of charge + Alert message to your mobile phone, when battery is low + GSM 900/1800 for use in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Oceania and Asia

Preparations for operation


Inserting the SIM card For inserting the SIM card, please remove the back cover, while pushing the white butten and slide the cover to the upper direction. After that, lift the cover and remove the battery, while pushing the two release catches in the opposite directions. Before you slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot, make shure, that the golden plated connectors on the SIM card are facing downwards. The bevelled edge of the SIM card must show to the slide direction. After inserting the SIM card, please insert the battery and put the cover on the back. Switching ON the Alarm Phone (ON/OFF Key) The key for switching ON and OFF, is located under the oval rubber at the top of the Alarm Phone. On the left side of the rubber, there is a round symbol, which markes the position of the key. For switching ON, press and hold the key for at least one second.

Settings
Deactivation of the PIN code request (only necessary, if activated) For the function of this device, it is absolutely necerssary, to deactivate the PIN code request of your SIM card. If the Alarm Phone requests a PIN code, key in the code an press OK. To deactivate the PIN code request, please perform following steps: Menu - Settings - Security settings - PIN code request - Enter PIN code - OFF. Storing the target phone number Please store the target phone number in the memory of the Alarm Phone, which is normaly used for storing the voice mailbox number. This memory is located inside of the Alarm Phone and not on your SIM Card. Thereby this number get not lost, when you change the SIM Card. Please proceed as follows: Menu - Messages - Voice mailbox number. Then press the clear key C, as long until the test number is deleted and key in the phone number of the mobile phone, to which you want to transfer the alarm call. -1-

Functional Test (Default Mode 1) For the fuctional test, the Alarm Phone must be switched ON first. To enable the alarm function, please dial the number of the Alarm phone with your Mobile Phone. With the reception of this call, the Alarm Phone powers OFF and the alarm function is enabled. As soon as the Alarm Phone detects vibrations or motion, it powers ON and starts dialing the number of your mobile phone after a delay of 10 Seconds. The call duration is limited to 15 Seconds and your mobile phone rings approx. 3 Times. At the end of this call period, the Alarm Phone powers OFF and goes into sleep mode. After call reception, store the transferred phone number in the phone book of your mobile phone with a unique name (e.g. Alarm). Sleep mode time is about 15 Minutes. The Alarm Phone does not respond to motion during this time. After expiration of this time period, the alarm function is enabled again automatically.

Modes of operation
This Alarm Phone is equipped with the following operation modes: Mode A: Call time limit for a time of 15 sec. / Time controlled reactivation Mode B: Call time limit for a time of 1 minute / Time controlled reactivation Mode C: Call time limit for a time of 1 minute / Activation with call reception only MODE A With detection of vibrations or motion, the Alarm Phone powers up and starts dialing the target phone number, after a delay of 10 seconds. The duration of this call is limited to 15 seconds. After that time, the Alarm Phone powers down instantly and goes into sleep mode. For the next 15 Minutes, the Alarm Phone does not respond to motion. After expiration of this time period, the alarm function is enabled again automatically.
Please note: When using a prepaid SIM card, you need to make sure there are enough funds loaded. Because of the call time limit, the voice announcement of the provider may prevent an alarm call, in this mode.

MODE B With detection of vibrations or motion, the Alarm Phone powers up and starts dialing the target phone number instantly. The duration of this call is limited to 1 minute.. After that time, the Alarm Phone powers down instantly and goes into sleep mode. For the next 15 Minutes, the Alarm Phone does not respond to motion. After expiration of this time period, the alarm function is enabled again automatically. MODE C With detection of vibrations or motion, the Alarm Phone powers up and starts dialing the target phone number instantly. The duration of this call is limited to 1 minute.. With the termination of the call, the Alarm Phone keeps powerd up without time limitaion and does not respond to motion. By calling back, you can reactivate the alarm function at any time. If you accept the alarm call with your mobile phone, you can listen into the monitored area, in this mode.

Sensitivity of the integrated vibration & movement sensor


The sensitivity of the integrated vibration & movement sensor can be adjusted in 3 steps. L = LOW Alerting with stronger vibrations or movements M = MID Alerting with medium vibrations or movements H = HIGH Alerting with weak vibrations or movements

Setting the operation parameters (only possible with inserted SIM card)
Setting of operation modes and sensitivity of the vibration & motion sensor, is done by entering following characters into the Welcome note text field. Please proceed as follows: Menu - Settings Phone settings - Welcome note. At first press the clear button, to delete the existing characters. For setting the operation mode, please enter A, B or C as the first character into the text field. For setting the sensitivity of the vibration sensor, enter L, M or H as the second character. According to the settings, please confirm with save. Please note: Only capital letters will be accepted. By pressing the # key, you can toggle between lower case and upper case. If you have changed the settings of the vibration sensor, the configuration is done with the next alert. New settings are valid only after the first alert. When delivered, the device is set to operation mode A and sensor sensitivity M. After switching on the Alarm Phone, the operating parameters are displayed in the display for some seconds.

Indicators for signal strenght and battery charge level


Please make sure if there is adequate reception of the cellular network in the monitored area. On the left side in the display, the signal strength is shown by four antenna bars. For proper operation, at least one antenna bar should be indicated. On the right side in the display, the charge level of the battery is shown by four bars. The higher the bar, the more power left in the battery.

Battery low message


The battery low message reminds you that the battery will soon need to be charged. In this case you will receive 2 phone calls within a time of 2 minutes. At each call, your mobile phone rings for approx. 3 times. The battery low message is repeated every 36 hours. The battery low message is activated in the alarm standby mode and in operation mode C, after an alert has occurred.
Technical hints The voltage range of the battery is between 4,1V (Battery fully charged) and 3,6V (Battery almost empty). The battery low message is released, when the battery voltage drops below 3,68V. After you have received the battery low message, the Alarm Phone might work for few more weeks, depending on the battery type and it's condition.

SIM card
This Alarm Phone is approved for use on the GSM900 and GSM1800 networks and can be used in the following regions: Europe, Africa, Asia an Australia. For the function of this device, it is absolutely necerssary, to deactivate the PIN code request of your SIM card. Please make sure, that the SIM card allows turning off the PIN code request, before purchasing.

Important basic settings (already defaultet to this settings)


PIN code request / OFF: Menu - Settings - Security settings - PIN code request - OFF Incoming call alert / Ringing: Menu - Tones - Incoming call alert - Ringing Ringing tone / Low: Menu - Tone - Ringing tone - Low Ringing volume / 3: Menu - Tone - Ringing volume - 3 Message alert tone / No tone: Menu - Tone - Message alert tone - No tone Own number sending / On: Menu - Settings - call settings - Own number sending - On Keypad - active Menu - * if kepad is locked Alarm function ON / OFF In all operation modes, the alarm phone must be switched ON first. To activate the alarm function, the Alarm Phone must receive a phone call. In Mode 1 and Mode 2, the alarm function reactivates automatically with a delay of 15 minutes, after alerting. In Mode 3, the Alarm Phone deactivates the alarm function, when an alarm has occurred. In this mode, the reactivation of the alarm function, is only possible by an incoming call. To turn off the alarm function, switch the Alarm Phone ON respectively OFF or press the ON/OFF button briefly.

Receiving an alarm call (Mode 1 / factory setting) When you receive an alarm call on your mobile phone, it will ring for approximately 6 seconds. Leave it ring or reject the call by pressing the end call button, because this is free of charge. If you don't reject the alarm call, the voice mailbox of your mobile phone can be activated. To avoid unwanted charges by rejecting the alarm call, please deactivate the call diversion to your voice mailbox. Silent alarm Under all operating conditions, this Alarm Phone makes no sound and no light in the monitored area. Housing): 140 x 70 x 33mm Weight: 155 gr. Waterproof box For outdoor use, please pay attention that the flaps of the box are fully engaged. To prevent condensation, allways put a silica gel pack into the box. Please don't forget to replace the silica pack from time to time. A used silica gel pack can be renewed, if you heat it up for a few hours.
Please note: silica gel absorbs the air moisture that is "in" the box when you close it.
