Interacting in California's Vineyard Culture

Emphasis on the language of wine using appropriate terminology, and interacting knowledgeably with restaurant and retail wine staff. Topics include learning the fundamentals of vineyard techniques, varietal characteristics, tasting techniques, drinking and ordering etiquette. Course is cotaught by a wine expert and an ESL instructor. Class consists of a short interactive lecture, a communicative activity such as role playing, and a tasting of four specially selected wines. Note: Class meets 7/02 - 8/13/2010. Mumbai Toastmasters Mumbai Toastmasters Club is a comfortable environment, where fun has a form and function. Where you choose to communicate, instead of talking. Where you learn, but are never taught. Where you lead your league by doing. Where self-enhancement first begins deep within and then becomes evident on the outside. Where the grooming is as subtle as blooming; so gradual you can't point at it, yet so quick you wont realize when you actually became the new you. Where you will exceed your tongue-tied colleagues because everyone listens when a Toastmaster speaks. The Club meetings are held every Sunday at 10 AM in R.D. National College, Bandra (W), Mumbai. A typical meet has 20 to 30 members and guests participating in the clubs communication and leadership program.

Our genesis Toastmasters was brought to India by the Garden City Speakers' Forum (GCSF - Bangalore) in 1992 by Mr. S S Chittur and Mr. M. H. Narasimhan. From a single club, it has branched out into 100+ clubs all over India. Some of the corporates in India that have Toastmasters Clubs for their employees include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Cisco, Delloite, Sun Microsystems, Dell, Honeywell, Ingersoll Rand, SAP Labs, etc.. Premier educational institutes within the country such as IIM-Banglore and ISB also realise the potential of Toastmasters in shaping their future graduates and have set-up on campus clubs. There are also many community Toastmasters club (open-to-all-interested) spread around the country. Mumbai Toastmasters is the first and leading community Toastmasters club in Mumbai/ Bombay. It was founded in mid-2006 by Mr. Ravi Kabra, who brought like-minded people together and educated them about Toastmasters by organising demo meetings - this soon got the ball rolling and the Club got chartered with its first 20 members in February 2007.
