SEIS LLAVES DE LA OCLUSION NORMAL. ANALIZO 120 MODELOS CON DENTICION IDEAL.
Nunca haban tenido tratamiento de Ortodoncia. Alineacin dental con apariencia agradable. Una mordida con intercuspidizacin generalizada correcta. A su juicio no se obtendra ningn beneficio con algn tratamiento ortodncico.

SEIS LLAVES DE LA OCLUSION NORMAL. Determin las caractersticas consistentes en todos los modelos (llaves de la oclusin normal). Se observaron seis caractersticas principales.

SEIS LLAVES DE LA OCLUSION NORMAL.

Se compararon estas caractersticas con 1,150 modelos de pacientes tratados ortodncicos (1965 1971). La falta de uno o ms de estas seis caractersticas/llaves de la oclusin produjo algn defecto en el resultado final de los modelos tratados ortodncicamente.

La cspide mesiovestibular del primer molar sup. debe ocluir en el surco que divide las cspides mesial y central (surco mesial) del primer molar inf. La superficie distal de la cspide distovestibular del primer molar sup. ocluye con la superficie mesial de la cspide mesiovestibular del segundo molar inf. La cspide mesiopalatina del primer molar sup. ocluye en la fosa central del primer molar inf.

SEIS LLAVES DE LA OCLUSION NORMAL. LLAVE NO. 2 ANGULACION DE LA CORONA (INCLINACION MESIODISTAL). La porcin gingival del eje longitudinal de la corona del diente se localiza a distal de la porcin incisal u oclusal de la misma. Se expresa en grados de inclinacin del eje longitudinal de la corona en relacin a un plano a 90 del plano oclusal en una vista vestibular.

Si la medida es positiva (+) indica que la porcin gingival de la corona se encuentra distal con respecto a la porcin incisal u oclusal. Si la medida es negativa ( - ) indica que la porcin gingival de la corona se encuentra mesial con respecto a la porcin incisal u oclusal.

Los grados de inclinacin de las coronas varan de acuerdo al tipo de diente.

SEIS LLAVES DE LA OCLUSION NORMAL. LLAVE NO. 3 INCLINACION DE LA CORONA (INCLINACION BUCOLINGUAL). Se representa por el ngulo formado por una lnea tangente a la porcin media de la cara vestibular de la corona clnica (parte ms prominente) en relacin con una lnea perpendicular al plano oclusal, en una vista mesial o distal.

Una medida positiva ( + ) es cuando la porcin gingival de la corona clnica se localiza en relacin lingual con respecto a la porcin incisal u oclusal de la misma. Una medida negativa ( - ) indica que la porcin gingival de la corona clnica se encuentra en relacin bucal con respecto a su porcin incisal u oclusal de la misma.

Las coronas de los dientes anteriores superiores e inferiores son altamente complementarias y afectan significativamente la sobremordida vertical y la oclusin de los dientes posteriores.
