STEVE TRAVIN TO RUN FOR CONGRESS IN THE NEW GEORGIA 14TH DISTRICT

Roys Grill has reopened

Roys Grill has survived NEW OWNERS NEW MANAGMENT. Theyre now opened to the public! Still located at their old spot on Chickamauga Avenue in Rossville, Georgia. Open 11-7, Monday thru Saturday.

HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE PREMIUMS TO GO UP AGAIN

Storm claims are driving-up insurance prices in Georgia. Most carriers increased premiums 9 to 23 percent last year... and another round of increases is on the way. State farm, Georgias largest home insurer, is seeking a 7 percent increase for next year... on top of a 20 percent increase since the start of 2010. All state, the number two home insurer, had a 23 percent increase earlier this year... and number three, the travelers group, and plans to increase rates by 18 percent. Steve Manders of the Georgia Department of Insurance said the current increases result from a series of storms in 2008 and 09... which had companies paying out a large number of claims. This year's round of tornadoes... which resulted in millions of dollars in damage... has not even been factored-in to insurance companies' future rate structures. 8/29/11

All of the county's sources of income are down this year... including fines, sales tax and the property tax digest. County Coordinator David Ashburn said more than 50 homes were taken off the tax rolls this year... destroyed by storms.

WALKER COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD HOLDS THE LINE ON PROPERTY TAX

Like the Walker County Commissioner... the local school board has decided to "hold the line" on property taxes for next year. This week, the board approved intent to adopt a millage rate equal to the "roll back" rate of 17.404 mills... the same as the current year. The tax digest and maintenance and operation levy for 2011 will be officially approved at the board meeting on September 19th.

NEW GEORGIA CONGRESSAL DISTRICT REVEALED .. DISTRICT 14TH

Lafayette, Dalton, Rome and Cedartown would all be in Georgia's newest congressional district... the 14th... under a plan revealed by state lawmakers. It's not the exact plan endorsed earlier by county officials in the area... including Walker County's Commissioner, Bebe Heiskell... but it does have similarities. The new 14th district would be oriented more north to south... instead of west to east. The current 9th district stretches from Dade County to Gainesville.

WALKER COUNTY COMMISSIONER BEBE HEISKELL SETS THE MILLAGE RATES FOR PROPERTY TAXES
... and those rates will bring in about 205thousand dollars less than last year. The net millage rates are 4.835 mills for the unincorporated areas of the county... and 7.196 mills for residents of the incorporated towns. That rate of taxation will bring in an estimated 7-million, 458thousand dollars for operation of county government and services.

Total counties included in the proposed 14th District number 11... plus the western part of Pickens County. Most of the area is currently represented by Congressman Tom Graves... though Floyd County and south are currently represented by Congressman Phil Gingrey of Marietta. The proposed new 14th district starts with Dade, Walker and Catoosa in the north... and stretches south to include Floyd, Polk, Haralson and Paulding counties in the south... and Murray and Gordon counties on the eastern boundary. The 14th is a new edition for Georgia, brought on by population growth revealed in the 2010 census.

FED CRACKDOWN ON GIBSON GUITERS EXPLAINED

Now we know why the Obama Regime put its boot on the neck of Gibson Guitar. It isnt about building guitars from oppressed wood; its about politics: One of Gibsons leading competitors is C.F. Martin & Company. The C.E.O., Chris Martin IV, is a long-time Democratic supporter, with $35,400 in contributions to Democratic candidates and the DNC over the past couple of election cycles. According to C.F. Martins catalog, several of their guitars contain East Indian Rosewood. In case you were wondering, that is the exact same wood in at least ten of Gibsons guitars. As for Gibsons political support, Henry E. Juszkiewicz, Gibsons Chief Executive Officer, is a donor to a couple of Republican politicians. According to the

Indian officials have better things to do that prosecute such cases, but not our Injustice Department, which is heeding Comrade Obamas call to punish our enemies. The bigger government gets, the more inevitable this sort of tyranny becomes.

THE PRICE OF DONATING TO THE WRONG PARTY.

To: Senator Chambliss Senator Isakson Congressman Graves The story, if true, of what took place in Nashville regarding the Gibson Guitar Company is more than shocking. First of all, why would government agents need to make a military entrance into a functioning American company? Why couldn't they have approached them with proper warrants and Marshall's? There are way too many military type actions taking place in America today.

Open database,

Juszkiewicz donated $2000 to Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN07) last year, as well as $1500 each to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN). Juszkiewicz also has donated $10,000 to the Consumer Electronics Association, a PAC that contributed $92.5k to Republican candidates last year, as opposed to $72k to Democrats. The raid served no legitimate purpose. Gibson was not even accused of violating any American law, but was shut down by armed storm troopers for allegedly violating picayune procedures India wants people to follow regarding the nationality of those who work with certain wood.

The kicker in this case, is telling them they will be left alone if they will move their work out of the U.S. If this is indeed true, how can congress \stand by and allow the DOJ to continue in this out of control manner? It is also being said that they give to republicans and that this may be reprisal against them by the administration. This kind of actions against productive Americans must be stopped. If they can do this to Gibson, they can do it to any company they choose. We would appreciate your investigation of this supposed outrage, and find a way to reel in this DOJ and their actions. GEORGIA SUNSHINE LAW REVISED By Walter C. Jones, Morris News Service ATLANTA Complaints of illegal government secrecy have more than doubled during last year, Attorney General Sam Olens told the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday. He was testifying about legislation he drafted to update the states Sunshine Law that requires state and local government meetings and documents to be public except in limited exceptions. His proposal, House Bill 397, would boost the fine for violations to $1,000. The current fine for withholding documents is $100 and $500 for illegal meetings. It would also give Olens the power to make a civil case rather than the current requirement to try for criminal charges with its higher burden of proof. His goal, he told the committee, is to target abuses of the current law. We are seeing more and more what I call background meetings where the issues are settled before the formal meeting, he said.

An example would be a city commission that completes 20 items on its agenda in 15 minutes with little debate because the discussions were taking place privately beforehand, he said. Another growing abuse is the use by public officials of private cell phones and e-mail accounts that they argue are exempt from public disclosure. Most witnesses from media organizations praised Olens for his efforts while suggesting tougher provisions, from higher penalties to lower costs for requested documents to awarding attorneys fees to lawyers who win lawsuits for violations. David Hudson, an Augusta attorney who represents the Georgia Press Association, objected to one provision Olens included that relaxes the current laws limits on closed meetings. Olens said it make sense for commissions, school boards and other governing entities to meet privately to interview candidates for senior positions like city manager or superintendent of schools. From our perspective, we dont know what it is ... that they would say in a closed session that they would not say in a public session, Hudson said. ... These positions are so utterly important to the community that they ought to be able to sit in and listen. One media attorney was not enthusiastic about the whole notion of revising the Sunshine Law. Hollie Manheimer, executive director of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation, told the committee the legislation could become a way for opengovernment opponents to attach amendments that weaken the current law. In Georgia, our laws are really not that bad, she said. Im afraid were going to end up with something worse.

Lobbyists for the associations of city and county commissioners said they had specific concerns about individual

Provisions in Olens proposal but they preferred to work them out with him. For example, some county commissions in rural parts of the state have a staff of just one or two people who could become swamped by abusive requests for documents from anyone peeved with the local government, they warned. In another instance, Clint Mueller, lobbyist for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia, raised a concern about whether a series of group e-mails to the entire body of a commission constitutes a meeting under the draft law change. While Olens is trying to prevent discussions out of the view of the public by outlawing online debates, Mueller said governments dont want to be required to notify the media and public every time a commissioner hits reply all to an e-mail. The committee took no action at Tuesdays hearing since the parameters of the current special legislative session dont include the bill. Instead, Olens promised to meet again in the fall with media and government groups to try to find a compromise before the legislature meets again in January.

According to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, SMs are not mandatory; it only mandates the utilities to "offer" them and to install them "upon customer request". September 17th is Constitution day!

After quoting these sources and many others, NLRB's regional director concluded in true Orwellian fashion that "the evidence establishes" that St. Xavier is "a secular educational institution or university." To support this astounding conclusion flying in the face of the facts (not to mention common sense), NLRB claimed a 1979 Supreme Court affirms this authority. Yet that case -- NLRB v. Catholic Bishop of Chicago -- actually says the complete opposite of what Obama's NLRB claims. In an instance of deja vu, the Supreme Court in Catholic Bishop considered a challenge to an NLRB order asserting authority over lay teachers at Illinois Catholic high schools. (Sound familiar?) NLRB claimed that it had no authority over a church but that it possessed power over church-related bodies that are not purely religious, such as schools. The court considered whether the National Labor Relations Act granted NLRB such power. Noting the religious mission of Catholic schools, the Supreme Court declared, "Good intentions by government ... can surely no more avoid entanglement with the religious mission of a school" than legislation the court previously struck down as unconstitutional violations of religious liberty. Turning to the facts of that case, the court reasoned, "The church-teacher relationship in a church-operated school differs from the employment relationship in a public ... school. There is no escape from conflicts flowing from [NLRB's] exercise of jurisdiction over teachers in churchoperated schools and the consequent serious First Amendment questions that would follow."

Now Obama's NLRB tells a church school it's not religious enough
By: Ken Klukowski | Special To The Examiner | 08/29/11 8:05 PM

It's not enough for President Obama's National Labor Relations Board to target the Boeing plant in South Carolina. Now the NLRB thinks it can tell a church school when it's not religious enough. Most people have heard by now of NLRB's unprecedented decree that Boeing Co. cannot build a new airline production facility in South Carolina. But Obama's NLRB is also claiming the authority to dictate labor policies and order union elections at Catholic universities if they are not religious enough. St. Xavier University was founded in 1846, the oldest Catholic school in Illinois. Its corporate member is a Catholic body with the "powers for the governance of" St. Xavier, that "links the University to the [Catholic] Church and makes it an officially recognized member of the Church." St. Xavier's Board of Trustees must have at least four nuns from the order that founded the school, and, according to its bylaws, its governing body must "ensure [St. Xavier] continues its educational and religious mission."

The court then noted that nothing in the law's language suggested NLRB has power over any church-affiliated organizations. The court invoked one of the most basic principles of American law, that a federal statute "ought not to be construed to violate the Constitution if any other possible construction remains available." Accordingly, the court held that federal law did not give NLRB the power it was claiming, so the court need not consider whether to strike down that provision. Instead, it held NLRB lacked any legal jurisdiction to judge the schools' religiosity, and vacated NLRB's order. Far from authorizing NLRB's action against St. Xavier, the ruling does the opposite of affirming the government has no such power over church schools. NLRB's contrary assertion is a frightening power grab that must be taken to court. So economic and social conservatives now have a common problem. Obama's NLRB is being wielded as an instrument of unfettered federal power. Congress and the courts must act to end this imperial overreach.

Murray County Tea Party September Meeting

Time: Thursday, September 1 6:30pm - 9:30pm Location: Murray Senior Center

Fred Thompson
President Obama grudgingly rescheduled an address to a joint session of Congress after Speaker Boehner told him Wednesday won't work. I've got a feeling we'll be saying the same thing about Obama's jobs plan.

The monthly meeting of The Dalton Tea Party Patriots will be held on September 20 at Ryman Hall at 7:00 PM.

REQUEST FROM THE TEA PARTY PATROITS Speak the Truth

The Tea Party Movement Is Under Vicious Attack! Fellow Patriot: We need your help! We are asking Tea Party supporters to participate in our Speak The Truth Campaign. Heres how:

Fill out this Google form to submit your video to Tea Party Patriots and we will compile them on our Speak the Truth Campaign page (This page is currently being built and we need your videos to make it happen) Click here for a sample video. Keep it clean, simple, and to the point.

Record a short (no more than 30 seconds) video with the following information: o Your first name o Where you are from o Your occupation o A fact about you that others can identify with (i.e. you are a grandparent, you play guitar, etc.) OR a very short statement about what you are fighting for as a tea partier o If you are a veteran or active military, and would like to, mention your service to this country End the video by saying, and I am a Tea Party Patriot or something similar Upload your video to YouTube and/or Facebook (If you need help uploading a video on YouTube, simply type in "how to upload a video to youtube" in the search bar for a "how to" video.)

Why we need your help: With the help of the mainstream media, liberals have stepped up their verbal attacks on the Tea Party movement in the most offensive and vile manner. Just weeks before our nation mourns the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Vice President Joe Biden called Tea Party Patriots American citizens terrorists and hostage takers. Congresswoman Maxine Waters, (D-CA) told an audience the Tea Party could go to Hell! At a town hall meeting held by the Congressional Black Caucus, Democrat Andre Carson (D-IN), in the most shocking, violent, and horrific statement uttered to date, claimed that the people of the Tea Party movement want to see black people hanging in a tree! The attacks are wrong and simply UNTRUE! Big-spending politicians have tried every strategy to destroy the Tea Party and have failed. Why use such deceitful vitriol against everyday Americans in the Tea Party movement? After all, we are simply citizens exercising our Constitutional rights to peacefully assemble, and elect leaders that represent our desires for fiscal and personal responsibility, free markets and Constitutionally limited government. The answer is, liberals know the Tea Party is changing the game in Washington by putting an end to the gravy train, and they are terrified of losing their power and perks.

Untruths have a way of taking hold if good and honest people do not stand up against them. The Tea Party movement is nothing more than Americans who are terrified about our countrys $14,000,000,000,000 debt. We know that trillion dollar (plus) annual deficits are unsustainable. We know that millions of our fellow Americans are out of work because the policies coming out of Washington D.C. have hindered economic growth. And we know that little by little, all Americans are losing the freedom to make decisions about their own lives because politicians and bureaucrats in D.C. continue to grab more and more power. These concerns were central in the founding of the Tea Party movement and they sustain our efforts today. The politicians are the ones we elect to make decisions and to govern responsibly, and yet they choose to attack the American people and blame us for their mistakes and corruption. The Tea Party movement welcomes ALL common sense citizens who share the same concerns for our country, no matter whom they are or where they are from. Weve heard the lies from the left. Its time Americans now hear the voices of the every day, concerned citizens in the Tea Party movement. Please help us Speak The Truth!

Hobbit or Terrorist?
Are you a hobbit or a terrorist. I guess it depends on who you listen to. According ot Senator McCain the tea party is composed of hobbits. According to Vice President Biden the tea party is composed of terrorists. Well, its been many years since I read the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy but as I remember it was the hobbits who actually brought everything together and saved the world so maybe we ARE hobbits! On the other hand if Biden means we are striking terror into the hearts of those politicians who want to continue business as usual then I am proud to be a terrorist. I want to be a HOBBIT! ..Cathie
