the concepts and techniques of your chosen master photographer.
Criteria:
Sketchbook: 40 pts- DUE Tuesday, November 25st
Research the following information about your chosen master photographer to be submitted in an aesthetically
pleasing two-page spread in your sketchbook:
-When and where did they live (birth-death, if applicable)?
-What education did they receive?
-How did they get into photography?
-Were they involved or an important asset to any particular art movements?
-Were they participants in any noteworthy exhibitions?
-What worldly events were occurring during their time that may have influenced their
photography?
-What are they most known for/ what have they contributed to photography?
Included somewhere in your sketchbook pages must be a timeline (think outside the box on how to do this…try
to avoid the stereotypical timeline if possible) highlighting the important/noteworthy dates of your chosen
photographer’s life/work.
Shooting Assignment: 60 pts- THREE BEST PRINTS DUE FRIDAY DECEMBER 12TH
Shoot a roll of film in the style of your chosen master photographer. Consider the techniques they’ve used and
the concepts/ideas they have explored. Be sure to closely observe and study their work before you begin
shooting your roll. Pay close attention to their chosen subject(s), lighting situations, common themes, etc.
Feldman’s Analysis of a chosen Print from your Master Photographer: 40 pts- DUE FRIDAY DEC. 19TH
In your sketchbook, you must complete an aesthetically pleasing analysis of one of your master photographer’s
photographs. Organize your analysis on a two-page spread in your sketchbook. You must include:
-Each step of Feldman’s method, in full completion
-A printout image you are analyzing
Remember to make it look awesome!
