First Choice Company (PVT) Ltd. is new comer company in the industry of food. First choice companys primary line of business is the manufacture and sale of sugar free candy named as smart candy. This candy is targeted to three segments, weight conscious people, sugar patients and kids. The smart candy will be approved by Ministry of Health Pakistan. So that the target segments will use it without any fear. Founders believe on opportunity exists in food industry because there is no such candy available in the market. So there is no competition available for the company in the market. Company at initial stage will provide free sampling of smart candy to get confidence of target segments. Company at initial stage will operate in Pakistani market only. Expected sales volume of company for first year will be 1,00,000 packs of candy, each pack will contain four dozens of candy. Break even is at 48,000 packs and growth is 4 to 6 percent. Initial market research has been encouraging. Research from all target segments has been conducted. A supplier selection is complete and the company has secured production facilities in west corner of Faisalabad.

Following is a description of major characteristics of each: Sweet is a major instrument that results the increment in weight of people. Currently in the market no candy was available that was for weight conscious people. Smart candy is one that will definitely help weight conscious people to control their weight. There is no age limit, they may be of 25 years or so on age. Smart candy will provide satisfaction to all weight conscious people. As the name suggests sugar free smart candy the next target segment will be sugar patients. Sugar patients they are bound to cut-off from any sweet items. They have very few options regarding food items because more than 90% have sugar inside. The disease of diabetes is mostly find in people who have 40 or more years of age. When they look any person eating sweet items they cry to eat it also. Smart candy will provide them a unique taste that will not be harmful. They can use it without any fear because it will be approved by ministry of health Pakistan. Kids who are always found of eating candies will also be a target segment. And there will be no issue of environment because the land is situated out side the city. Second reason for the selection of the land is that the cheap labor will be available from the nearest villages. Third will be that we can expand the factory in the future. Fourth reason to select this land is that supplier can easily reach and the finished goods can easily distributed to the retailers because the land is out of city but every on can easily approach the factory. All if these factors would help to reduce the cost of goods sold directly it would help to increase the profit of the company. Manufacturing policy First of all intensive training will be giving to the employees so that the wastage of raw material reduced. And it will also help full to meet the international standards. For that purpose contacts will be made for those companies who will engage in this field. Second our inventory system is based on the FIFO system. State of the art technology is imported from the china. And the foodstuff, which will be used in the process, is passed from the food department and also according to the international standard standards. Increasing fuel prices In a world market the prices of the fuel increase day by day. Fuel price affects the price of other products. Our transportation cost will be increased and raw materials also increase. So this type of risk does not ignore by the company.
