Operational process
Product operation: The primary objective of the group was to establish high quality branded Gererics Company, represent multinationals not operating directly in Pakistan and to establish FDA and BP specifications bulk drug plant. In the last ten years. Himont has moved forward considerable and has established two manufacturing facilities. Himont chemicals are one of the largest bulk raw materials manufacturing plants in the country, which has seven hundred tons annual capacity. It has been established at a site of 12 acres to produce USP/BP standards formulation. The plant is supplying raw materials to one khundred and twenty companies including multinationals like Glaxo/welcome, knoll,Roche, organaon, Racket & Colman, Rhone poulenc and severa other Local companies. The second plant is manufacturing /repacking non-sterile and sterile products. Currently, Himont pharmaceutical (pvt.)Limited is manufacturing eighty different formulations. These products include license arrangements with leading European companies,i.e.Italfarmaco and thea from France, Himalaya Drug co.(Herbal products)of USA,standard chem., & Pharm from Taiwan, lacer from Spain and denofa from Norway. Currently Himont pharma is marketing, manufacturing and distributing products of ten multinational companies in addition to several of its own formulation. Himont ha established its own distribution company with nine centers in major cities, and directly supply products to over thirty thousand pharmacies through out the country. In the local market, Himont is considered as a fast growing company with excellent quality image. operating in Pakistan; and the combine business of all the divisions is the third largest among the National Pharmaceutical companies. Supply chain management: Squares distribution and marketing systems (SDMS) was incorporated in 2001 with the aim of timely and safe distribution of health care products to each licensed pharmacy in the country.

SDMS; objective is to satisfy the needs of all the customers and ensure that principle objectives are met with minimum expenses. SDMS covers thirty thousand chemists, pharmacies, hospital pharmacies and teaching institutions. Today, SDMS maintains distribution centers at Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and peshawar; covering 85% licensed pharmacies of the mentioned area. Inventory Management: our operations managers established a strong system for managing inventorying this regard all the recording and analysis function of inventory take place at operation level.noramally we at Himont regard four types of inventory that are 1.raw material inventory 2.work in process inventory 3.operating inventory 4.finished goods inventory. Scheduling: In Himont we are very planned in our work scheduling.we know our job priorities.our personnel are well aware of managements long term strategies as well as short term. Pakistan market proves to be the potential one for all kinds of business. Many measure needs to taken to address above mentioned problem. Business friendly policies should be announced by the Government with consistent and persistent implementation. A Nationalization policy should also be announced. so that, It could pay the local people on the long run. Above all, energy crisis should be resolved on the top priority. Complete import in finished good and smuggled items should be banned. At least half of the process of any product should be done locally. In this way it will open the further windows of opportunities. There should be a check over the registration of new pharma company, there should be some strict policies from the government side that should be fulfilled by the applicant to get the pharma license. So that we can get rid of a single room based pharmaceutical company who affecting the local market with low and substandard products and playing with the health of people.
