The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program This is a free 12-week course for family
caregivers of individuals with severe brain disorders (mental illnesses). The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free for class participants. The Family-to-Family curriculum focuses on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depression), clinical depression, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The course discusses the clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. Children's Access Team: (916) 875-9980 TTY/ TDD: (916) 876-8892. Access is staffed by professional clinicians who would be glad to discuss your concerns, determine what steps might be helpful, and provide information about outpatient providers where you may schedule an appointment if outpatient treatment is appropriate through Sacramento County. These clinicians may ask you questions about your mental health issues as well as insurance and income information to determine eligibility for services.

Casa Willow is a 6 bed licensed facility located in Citrus Heights serving as an alternative step-down from ER and inpatient psychiatric hospitals for patients with Kaiser insurance. One of the primary goals at Casa Willow is medication stabilization in order to facilitate the patient's transition back to outpatient treatment and the community. Crisis intervention is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A typical length of stay is 7 days, but mostly varies from patient to patient. Casa Willow is Kaiser contracted program run by Anka Behavior Health Inc,formerly known as (Phoenix Programs Inc), a Concord based mental Health nonprofit serving mentally ill clients and homeless people

Psychiatrist - A licensed medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses. They may work with you on everyday problems like stress or more complex issues like schizophrenia. Psychiatrists can prescribe medications. Psychologist - A licensed specialist who provides clinical therapy or counseling for a variety of mental health care conditions. They have earned a doctorate degree in psychology and are required to complete several years of supervised practice before becoming licensed. Counselor/Therapist A specialist who provides mental health services to diagnose and treat mental and emotional health issues. They may use a variety of therapeutic techniques. Licensed Counselors have a masters or a doctoral degree in counseling or a related area. Neuropsychologist A licensed psychologist with expertise in how behavior and motor skills are related to brain structures and systems. Social Worker - A specialist who provides treatment for social and health problems. Some social workers may work in employee assistance programs or as case managers who coordinate psychiatric, medical and other services on your behalf. Others specialize in domestic violence or chronic illness. Most social workers have a masters degree in social work; many are licensed as a LCSW. Psychiatric Nurse- Licensed registered nurses (R.N.) who have extra training in mental health. Under supervision of medical doctors, they may offer mental health assessments and psychotherapy and they may help manage medications. Advanced practice registered nurses (A.P.R.N.) can diagnose and treat mental illnesses. Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)- Therapists who evaluate and treat disorders within the context of the family.
