Textile Technology: TT is all about using knowledge & skill to plan, design and make good quality textile products. The oldest fabric found near a village of Tigress river in Turkey in BC 7000. BC 2800 in Egypt first garment of a kid was found. That fabric was made on linen. Linen made from the fibre of Flax tree. (5000 3000) BC use animal skin as clothes. Comfortable 2. Capacity to absorb humidity 3. Flexible to adjust with body 4. Versatility in design 5. Good reaction to chemical 6. Long lasting 7. Free from electric effect Properties of fibre: 1. Warmth 2. Cool 3. Not damaged by heat 4. Strength 5. Hydro phobic fibre (mnR cvwb XyKbv) 6. Hydro phallic fibre (mnR cvwb XyK) 7. Flammability 8. Moth (cvKv) resistance 9. Mildew (wPZv) resistance

What is Yarn? The twisted form of fibre is known as yarn. According to ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials) A generic term for continuous strand of textile fibre filaments on other material in a form suitable for knitting and weaving. Staple & Filament: The fibre of short length is called Staple and the fibre of indefinite length is called Filament. Classification of Yarn: Yarn
