On the second page of this issue are Web2.0 tools that can be used to help you with YouTube videos. They will remove distractions, trim clips, and even download. I choose ones that I thought would be the most benecial. Most of these I have found through reading random blog postings and my own exploration. If you want more Web2.0 tools that can be used with YouTube videos, go to Free Technology for Teachers.

KeepVid
http://www.keepvid.com/ This website allows you to download YouTube videos to your computer. This can be used when you wont have Internet access or want to keep a copy.

TubeChop
http://www.tubechop.com/
This website allows you to only use part of the video that you want instead of the entire thing. Good for during lessons, to save time nding the clips

SafeShare.TV
http://www.safeshare.tv/ Creates a new URL link for you to share on your website. The new link does not have any distractions or unnecessary items. This is good to use if you want to share a link with students or place it on your website.

A Cleaner YouTube
http://clea.nr/
Downloading this software automatically cleans and remove distractions. The items can be seen again with a simple button click. This also changes the YouTube start page. This would be good to use when searching with students. Can be removed in preferences

quietTube
http://quietube.com/
I recommend using these

ViewPure
http://viewpure.com/

These two website allow you to watch YouTube videos without any distractions (similar videos, description, comments, etc). Copy and paste YouTube URL into box to purify or drag the bookmark into bookmark toolbar for easy clicking.
If an appropriate video is blocked by a rewall due to weighted phrase limit usually because of comments this will remove those comments and it should be able to be played
