Do You Love Movies . . .

and have always wanted to be an actor or a director or a costume designer in a large scale movie production? If so, let me introduce you to the wonderful island of Hispaniola where in November a new school is going to be taking place with the purpose to create a feature film in the native Creole language of the Haitian people. We will be learning all of the basics of film-making from true professionals in their respective fields. We have connections from Hollywood, New York, Kona, and recent University Graduates ready to come and share their knowledge of film and acting with us. The best part is you will receive basic training in all the essential fields of movie-making, but you will be asked to step up and excel in a particular field in which you are interested. You, along with the help of your classmates, will be writing the script, going on location to film, and editing this movie! If this sounds exciting to you, I want to tell you the best part. While you are learning film and everything about how to make a great movie, there will be Bible teachers coming through to give you a deeper understanding of the word of God. Teachers that are coming may include SBS teachers from Taiwan or Kona. Intermixed with this entire time will be amazing times of community and worship together as we seek Him on how to create a movie that will impact a nation! In Summary, the Vision of the school is To bring glory to God through film, and see the hearts of people changed in the school, in the nation of Haiti, and around the world. Specifically: Run a school where the students are given the potential to be taught in all aspects of movie making from cinematography, acting, costume design, to post production, effects, lighting, sound engineering etc. Create a movie that relates to Haitian culture in their Creole language with mostly Haitian actors. A movie that reveals the character of God through His attributes like love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Distribute this movie throughout Haiti, and broadcast it on Haitian television. Create a Christ centered community where we positively effect each other, and those that are brought into the community. Bring solid Biblical teachers to continue to give the students an opportunity to dig deeper into the word of God, and continue building upon the foundational teachings of the DTS.

Heres what you need. To have completed a YWAM DTS. To have a desire to learn, love God, and live in international community To be able to speak English/Spanish/Creole or willing to learn as the school will be trilingual Finances $6000 USD to cover your costs for the entire year to cover school costs. We will try to raise scholarships to cover our Haitian students, but we are asking them to raise $500 USD towards their cost. A completed application and a Dominican Visa.
