C (pronounced like the letter C) is a general-purpose computer programming language developed between 1969 and 1973 by Dennis Ritchie at the Bell Telephone Laboratories for use with the Unix operating system. Although C was designed for implementing system software, it is also widely used for developing portable application software.C is one of the most widely used programming languages of all time and there are very few computer architectures for which a C compiler does not exist. C has greatly influenced many other popular programming languages, most notably C++, which began as an extension to C. C is an imperative (procedural) systems implementation language. It was designed to be compiled using a relatively straightforward compiler, to provide low-level access to memory, to provide language constructs that map efficiently to machine instructions, and to require minimal run-time support. C was therefore useful for many applications that had formerly been coded in assembly language. Despite its low-level capabilities, the language was designed to encourage cross-platform programming. A standards-compliant and portably written C program can be compiled for a very wide variety of computer platforms and operating systems with few changes to its source code. The language has become available on a very wide range of platforms, from embedded microcontrollers to supercomputers.

The Objective of the Gate Pass Generation System is to capture the photographs, personal and official details of all visitors and stored in computerized system for reference at any point of time

2011-12

Gate Pass Generation System is based on C Language which include the information of any vehicle entering the campus having Gate Pass Generation System and giving the pass for that vehicle. It includes entry of the data like :1- Type of vehicle (i.e. four , three or two wheeler) 2- Date and the Time of entry
3- Registration Number And Owner of Vehicle with information details

4- Date and the Time of exit 5- Save the data Gate Pass Generation System is generally used in the Universities , Colleges , Shopping Malls , Hotels and Resturants , Railways , Service Centre , Hospitals , Factories , etc. The main concern of big enterprises are to manage the daily entry and exit of vehicles in the site premises Planned to realize all such functions performed practically on site, so that successful execution can be done on implementation. Objective by them is: Vehicles and drivers login/logout One trip/regular vehicle gate pass printing Vehicle inspection Material Entry

Silent Features of them:1. Maintain records of On-site Transportation of regular site vehicles of all Companies and Sub -

Contractors. 2. Maintain Records of Inspection of all vehicles - Regular Site automobiles & One-trip vehicles. 3. Issuing and renewal of vehicle Gate passes. 4. Inspection of Vehicles and Mobile equipments. 5. Record keeping of all Material Entry & Exit from the gate 6. Maintain Database of all Drivers. 7. Keep Issue records of one-trip gate passes to vehicles and their drivers. 8. System alarming & Reminders for re - inspection dates and more than 24-hour presence of vehicles onsite with one trip gate passes

2011-12

Scope of Project
Gate Pass Generation System is developed using the C language which reduces the human efforts and give the relevant detail of the vehicle.

This software has been developed to keep track of the visitor related information. The basic utilities are as follows: _ Generating reports as per specific date range & time range. _ Frequency of the visitor to a particular official as per specific date range & time range. _ Visiting Purpose wise detail information as per specific date range & time range. _ Identification of a visitor with details as per specific date range & time range. _ Permanent and secured data bank as per specific date range & time. _ Number of visitor with prior appointment and on date visit as per specific date range & time. _ Back up of visitors data bank as per specific date range & time for vigilance and inquiry purpose.
